Seems like will get out any time and cant handle pressure. Hopefully Australia will prove me wrong.. I still think Gill is a better bet than him at #4 or 5. Thoughts?

Lol Gill Iyer is great guy to have at no 4 in ODIs. He was successful in NZ tour in both T20 & ODI. T20 is not is strong suit though but he still way better than Gill in T20 who can't score quickly.
Forever Indian Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 Both Gill and Iyer are not ideal for T20s, they are more suited to ODIs with Gill also for longer format. There are other options for T20s and SKY is probably the first that should be in line. express bowling, Mosher and raki05 3

Thoughts? i have a same feeling sooner or later gill will push him out and yea his captaincy hasnt been impressive either

Cricketics Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 Fine if you have those thoughts about Iyer for t20, but keep those thoughts only for t20. This format has a knack of making decent prospects or good players look ugly. Iyer is still pretty good for 50 overs.
