Kohli - hardik's bowling gave us balance in SA n ENG tour

Kohli is a SDP fan!

When Pandya starts to bowl again, he can be useful in red ball cricket as it allows Ind to play 4 pacers + 1 spinner. Should bowl w/ a relatively new hard ball as well. On certain pitches where spinners are expected to do most of bowling, Pandya can be the 2nd pacer, allowing Ind to play 3 spinners among 4 specialist bowlers

Pandya should be told that his bowling will be essential for England, New Zealand and South African conditions and its not just about World tournament. We are already missing the balance of an all-rounder in this Australia tour, being forced to play only four bowlers.

Kohli is completely wrong, Pandya did not give them balance, it was elusion of balance which entices any captain. Kohli like a fool was sucked into it.Other than his flukey 6 over spell where he picked up wickets, he was rarely picking up any wickets. He was not delivering with bat either. We had Woakes on England side who scored a hundred and Sam Curran who was difference between two wins and losses.

Ashwin and Jadeja provide that balance when Indian play home tests. They are frontline bowlers who are very good with bat.

From what I remember in that series, we didn't have any problems getting them all out in both innings. Its our batting that cost the series. I would rather have a solid test batsman at 6.

We got three important white ball trophies lined up in next three years, let Pandya focus on those and deliver his best instead of increasing workload on himself for tests

Kohli is a pretender. He himself dropped Pandya from playing 11 against Australia last year. This year he has gone further and dropped Pandya from even the test squad. Now he says Pandya gave balance to team. His selections on playing 11 and squad does not backs his words.

How is he a pretender, he gave Pandya the longest rope at the detriment of the team.

As shown in SA and Eng, we lost the series because of poor batting. Pandya might bowl a few overs and get wickets by luck, but it is the batting we lose out on. We lost 2-1, and 4-1 to mediocre teams in SA and Eng. Unless, he consistently contributes with his bat , he will be a liability.

SA team definetly was no mediocre with Vernon and AB. They beat Aussies also that season. England in England is again with their allrounders is very good team. India had zero battting from lower order and openers. If they had played a regular batsman over Pandya they might have had better chance of winning that series .

SL won in both Eng and SA recently. SA esp was weaker as we were getting them all out sub-300 scores, but we were sub-200. In Eng, we list to Sam Curran. Rest were handled

SDP could have won a test in NZ

Man we got crushed in both tests. Doubt even a Smith or Stokes would have saved us there.

When did SL win in England??? They won in SA over a freak innings and AB was gone by then. You are right both in SA and England bowling did its job for majority of the time. They just got tired of carrying the weakass batting in the Oval test. Pandya along with openers was one of main reasons for the defeats. Pandya neither was good with ball nor bat. Calling him allrounder in tests is ridiculous. One flukey innings with bat and one spell with ball does not make Pandya into an allrounder. Kohli is a bigger idiot if he thinks Pandya will provide balance in test cricket.

Pandya wasn't dropped but was injured.

What kind of logic is that, If specialist batsmen don't do the job kick them out.  Don't use that as an excuse to play a guy like Pandya.
