Ishant sharma avgd 16 in the second test where he replaced Bhuvi. 

 

Bhuvi would have been ineffective on that track, even faf du plessis himself daid that this track was more like a subcontinent one

The half-truth is the fact that Ankit voiced support for Krunal Pandya as a possible candidate for the open slot that the Indian team has for 2023 WC - that of a hard-hittting batsman at #6/7 who can bowl quality spin.  He never claimed that Krunal is great for that role, just that he can be considered.

More than the specific players, it's the randomness of decisions that make him a terrible leader. Bhuvi had taken 6/120 and scored 25 and 13* in the 1st test. But because our captain choker had to be seen being 'proactive' he dropped Bhuvi, the inform bowler to get Ishant in. Imagine the message such decisions send to other players.
