Just putting it in writing won't help, this administration isn't trustworthy, there is no guarantee that govt will stick to their written promises and farmers want to make msp legal. Make it a law.

Looks like they want more loot from the tax payer. Are these people farmers or Thugs? They must be even worse. Namely the politically active middlemen.

Your fenku robs people on a daily basis by raising the price of basic commodities such as fuel daily.

There were no such demands to make it a law. MSP was never in law, but an admin policy at local markets level. There are no protests else where to make it a law. This mew demand is only because of the optics to seeing BJP relent to their illegal protests.

MSP was removed for some crops by the same farmers’ demands that they sell crops outside APMC laws, too much taxes and kickbacks given to dalaals

The whole protest is about legalising msp for important crops because the new laws may pose a danger to the mandi system. The administration committed to give it to farmers in writing at the first or second meeting itself. But there is no guarantee that the government will stick to its written promises hence they rejected the proposal and asked that msp be legalised.

What's happening is right wing communism under the premise of free market. In Russia, after the overthrow of the tsars, the first thing the communists did was to assasinate the intellectuals who were against communism and then seize the farms by force and kill all those who produced food. The soviet regime has killed many millions by starvation. What is happening here is a different approach similar to what happened in US in the past under "free market" slogan. They want oligarchy in farming which is not different from communism.

One should not blindly go by the slogans and learn from history. The farmers issue is a real one and bajpa need to back off. I know they are under goombani and goondani's spell. Everyone can see what's next on their menu. These days the farmers also know what's going on and they are going to push back. oh btw the goombani and goondani also own the khangress. so its not far from them not doing the same. The farmers should not trust any of these parties because they are all owned by the same goons. Jai Kisan Jai Bharatmata and Jai Indians

I may have missed this if you highlighted it earlier. Can you state specific clauses from the bill and specify consequences ? Farmers’s protest leader can’t, so I am happy someone who understands the issue can.

You can find this on your own. I'm not coming from a clause specific angle. I'm not a lawyer nor am I of the political bent. I'm going by history in other countries of a similar bill. @Jimmy Cliff has posted here about Nixon introducing a similar bill in USA. You may want to read that. Or better ask jimmy himself

I must say. I admire the confidence of folks to opine on subjects which they have not read on.

I am no lawyer either. But I am asking a simple question. What specific elements of Bill are you protesting or even worried and folks are just going round and round.  I have read and understood the Bill. I don’t claim my understanding is correct.

But I didn’t see one element on three bills that stops a farmer from doing what they are doing presently. I am happy to be corrected if this assertion is incorrect.

why didn't you quote me this time. you didn't want a response? I'm not from Haryana or those places. But I know what happened in my neck of the woods. If you don't claim your understanding is that great, your opinion is as good as mine. I see there is heavy pushback which happened in my state for a different issue. That means the centre is acting against the wishes of the people. That is a clear case of not being democratic. If you don't understand democracy, better read up on it rather than opine of subjects you don't have an idea on :p:

In the name of Hinuvata they are screwing farmers.

This is not free market going on but oligarchy.

They are benefitting only two families and without antitrust laws this is all meaningless.
