Not the only reason, he doesn't really get the zip of wickets like Jadeja & is much loopier through the air - also part of the reason why he gets more turn. Jadeja on the other hand is more of a post 90's quick SLA who's deadly accurate. One of the biggest gripes I have of Ashwin vs Jadeja is when you need to keep it simple he overcomplicates it lots of times. SA 2nd test, Eng 4th test (away 2018) in both games the opposition spinners vastly outbowled him, in helpful conditions mind you. Jadeja will rarely do that - if there's something in the pitch it's hard to see (opposition) spinners outbowl him & that's why post 2016 I've rated jadeja>ashwin even as a bowler. Case in point Delhi 2015, Chennai 2016, Ranchi 2017. He’s not an ordinary Bess who just keep things simple or actually spin the ball... Any spinner can spin the ball, what’s the big deal... the main thing is to try taking wickets with non-spinning deliveries... You need a big _____ to do that...
