nsareen Posted March 8, 2021 Posted March 8, 2021 Can all three be part of the indian team in the near future ? if yes all three are prolific scorer’s, all three left handers, all three can bowl a bit too.. Maybe for next world cup ? Hoping it happens sooner than later.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Suhaan 1

Tilak verma is already topping charts in Vijay Hazare, Jaiswal had a good last season & a great u19.. maybe another season in A teams and then can be groomed for the teamas backup openers and top order players.. all three are gun fielders too..Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Suhaan 1
Vickydev Posted March 8, 2021 Posted March 8, 2021 Only Devdutt for now. He has the strokes and flourish. Jaiswal looks more like a long format player to me. His success in u19 wc was lot about leaving deliveries outside off and playing close to the body early on and later cashing in. In domestic limited overs matches he hasnt adapted that well so far and unless he has a remarkable couple of IPLs he is not getting into the A team setup, forget the main side. Lets face it hardly anybody gets to play white ball cricket for India without doing some damage in IPL. Verma is even further off. BacktoCricaddict 1

Verma is even further off.i wouldn’t say so, these guys all score quickly naturally, bog hitters too, yes a coupe of them are in-experienced, but both are making a mark rapidly & moving up the ranks.. IPL is a different ball game, i feel ODI’s is what they should be groomed for & transition can happen in Tests / T20 too..Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Suhaan 1
BacktoCricaddict Posted March 8, 2021 Posted March 8, 2021 Jaiswal has struggled throughout the Hazare tournament; it appears that Mumbai has been very patient with him. Even in last year's IPL, he looked like he had lost his mojo. Not sure what is going on - if it is technical or a confidence issue. Granted he was playing for Stevie and Litmus Paper XI, but still. Hope he sorts it out soon. Definitely has shown how talented he is in the U19 WC. Maybe time to talk to Dravid Sir again? Vickydev and express bowling 2

It could also be a case of U19 star not being able to make the step up to next level. this happens to a lot of cricketers, mostly due to either bad attitude/loss of talent from their side or incompetence from selectors and domestic cricket associations. I can recall many who looked very promising in U19 and completely vanished (e.g., gaurav dhiman, vijay zol, armaan jaffer). I really hope jaiswal and varma do not fall under this category. express bowling 1
Cricketics Posted March 8, 2021 Posted March 8, 2021 Add Shaw also to the line up. Anyone who can amass that many runs at a young age is a candidate. Failing overseas isn’t a big deal at a young age. express bowling, Vijy, kirkutfan and 1 other 4

nsareen Posted March 9, 2021 Author Posted March 9, 2021 OP seems to be writing about players who have not played for India (or India A) yet.yes the idea was to identify next in line from the upcoming batting prodigies who are working hard & making consistent scores..paddikal has an average of 88.5 with 1300+ runs in LIST A cricket, that is un heard of in indian cricket at least since i’ve been following it. with a couple of not out scores can be well in 95+ range which is bradmanesque in 21st century. shubman / shaw have started getting their chances so they would fit in one way or other if they keep working hard.. coffee_rules Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 Devdutt is a safety first batter, will not get you blazing starts. We need somebody who can play blinders at the start, dare devils raki05 1
Lone Wolf Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 Paddikal will make it.. Jaiswal never impressed me much. He isn't the kind of guy we need as an opener. He should target the Test opening spot though. Score big in Ranji & get to India A.
nsareen Posted March 9, 2021 Author Posted March 9, 2021 Devdutt is a safety first batter, will not get you blazing starts. We need somebody who can play blinders at the start, dare devilshe can be very damaging when required as he was in the SMA trophy, in List A he takes his time, don’t see anything wrong in that. if you see Vihay Hazare trophy records, he has one of the most 6’s hit..Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Score big in Ranji & get to India A. jaiswal was special in U19 in those pitches where there was something for the bowlers, and he took his time and attacked later, which is a good template for ODI’s.. yes he did not have a good IPL or vijay hazare, maybe due to the pressure of being a star now , but he would take his own space i’m sure of that.. special kid..Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk raki05 1

Not commenting on his abilities, he doesn't bring much different from the safety first approach of HitMan and Gabbar. So, if you want to go with English ODI team, explosive starts are the future. His IPL show last fall was similar to his LA/FC ODI experience

Texan Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 Why is Padikkal not in the T20 team? Based on his current form and potential he showed in the IPL, he should be a shoo-in to the team.
