Need Umran with the Indian team as a net bowler on every tour from now on or have Bharat Arun coach this guy. He is too precious to be grinding it out in Ranji.

Bro ... Umran is looking as quick as Lee/Akhtar in their early years.

I would rather want him to be at NCA till next  Domestic season start building strength , accuracy , practice hard to bowl  balls hitting top of off stump/back of length on same line ( if he can manage little seam movement by whatver means he can be deadly with those balls) , refine throat high bouncers , yorkers .

Slow balls for later.

Agree strongly !

And he has to practice bowling 15 overs a day too.

My theory is a bit different.

I feel that express quicks need to practice targeting top of off stump right from the beginning of their careers ... without cutting down on pace

You know why  ?

Otherwise we usually see that bad habits set in and the pacer has to cut down on pace to gain control after a year or two. Happened with Umesh after spraying the ball for 6 years. Has happened with many others too.

P.S - He is already getting some regular indip.

You have a point but i am optimistic since he is being guided by Stein this season, himself a tearaway quick and he actually bowling much quicker  and also looks better than last year . I am sure stein will give him a checklist of things to be done once IPL is over and if Umran works on them post IPL i expect him to be a much better bowler with control by next IPL. Hope he does not get injured .

we need more bounce on indian pitches ,even uae pitches have that extra kick.

UAE pitches are two paced. Spongy bounce.

Never had any doubt.

But the truth is, our true fast bowlers except Bumrah don't have T20 skills. None of Shami, Umesh, Prasidh have good slower one. Avesh, I don't think is that fast although bowling in rythm this year. Shouldn't be counted among Bhuvi types.

Our medium pacers are better.

1 of 2.

In any form of cricket wickets are crucial, wicket takers are always welcome

Most of these guys also have variations, and t20s are brutal, our pacers tend to learn slowly that is correct, but besides Lockie i dont see any pacer getting fruitful results as consistently

Shaheen,Boult are top new ball bowlers but none of them is as versatile as Lockie

I was very disappointed with Kane Williamson's captaincy when Umran was bowling. So many edges just flew to the boundary. The slip should have instead been a fly slip as edges from his bowling travel quick and far, and fine leg and third man should have been very fine, almost behind the wicket-keeper.

I hope SRH management doesn't just look at the runs conceded and discourage or drop Umran. There is NOTHING more exciting than watching a fast bowler going full throttle at a batsman in cricket. And when that fast bowler is Indian, it is truly exhilarating to watch. We need to encourage him even more.
