How did Mishra lose his spot from India's LOI format?

Looking at the numbers combination of strike rate/economy/average  he has impressive numbers.  I know Ashwin for a brief period provided variety of options like opening the bowling, bowling in death overs.  Also Jaddu provided batting/fielding options. Had he been a little younger would he have been a regular bowler for us?

Cause Chahal seduced Kohli with his muscles. Mishra was cruelly cut for no reason and replaced by Kohli's clique and one season wonders like Yadav.

No way Mishra should have been marginalised especially when had an expensive hair transplant to pay for.

If I remember correctly, he was terrific in the 2014 World T20, so was Ashwin. Those were helpful conditions though, can't remember what happened right after.

Dhoni never really liked him. Right from the beginning of his captaincy days. More so after his 170/0 vs England at the Oval in the 2011 test series.

The guy took 15 wickets in his last ODI series, a 5-er in his last ODI. Dropped for ever after that.

2 MoMs at the start of the tournament. Played 3 T20s after that.

His Test performances went against him. Should have been seen as a LOI bowler but Dhoni preferred defensive spinners who gave him control.

no captain liked him from ganguly to kohli , no batsman even backed him coz he was slow through air which doesnt work outside india

He was a good enough shorter format bowler and should have played more than the 36 ODIs he played. They kept discarding him on the basis of poor test performances when LO cricket was his stronger suit.

there comes a point when u need to stop looking for numbers

Cricket as as much about talent and skill as it is about those very numbers - the performances on the field.

with that problem ....nope. Spinners who are working are quicker through air. U cant be just one condition bowler. Even if u notice in IPL over all the years he generally comes in play during 2nd half of IPL when pitches wear down

Kuldeep also had same issue, slow through air. Thats why he was kept getting discarded even guys like ash, jaddu, chahal, kuldeep who came after him got ahead. U can blame one captain or mgmt for being bias but it was every captain n mngmt. Our batsman cant be so idiot that they cudnt suggest a captain if someone is that good. In LOI u cant give batsman time to adjust , thats why rashid khan works wonders

1st see talent and skill and then see numbers if they back it. His skill doesnt work for LOI

Forget skill. 36 matches, 65 wickets, 16 wickets and MoS in his last series, 5er and MoM in his last ODI. The guy deserved a proper run of 8-10 matches on those numbers alone

out of which he has played 95 % games in ind, wI, bang, zimb

only 11 can play u cant give everyone a chance , u need to look for right skill players. Slow through air doesnt work in every condition...no point investing in such player.

It also shows he wasn't given chances outside those countries despite doing well in the chances given. This was when Ashwin and Jadeja struggled in so many series in SENA

ash n jaddu also won CT and their struggle started when every finger spinner started struggling in white

their was a reason he wasnt given chance outside- SLOW through Air...neither he got bounce
