It is important to hold the government responsible for what is happening in the country in the wake of the second Covid wave, actor Anupam Kher said on Wednesday while asserting that public criticism towards authorities is “valid in lots of cases”.

The veteran actor, who is often viewed as being close to the Narendra Modi-led government, added that it was time for the government to understand that there’s more to life than image building.

I agree with the sentiment. BJP has made lots of mistakes and we need to recognize it. Time to refocus and win ppl's hearts starting with improve COVID situation & then farmers' issue.

BJP cant offer a long term solution because they don't believe in science. We've seen their MPs, MLAs flaunting COVID rules & telling people only blind faith can save them.

Then Macron and Merkel should also be blind faith followers since they have lost more people as a percent of population.

 

This is an unprecedented event and everything in hindsight is 20-20.Something or the other can always be improved in such a scenario.

I dont think BJP can improve since their remedies are unscientific and based on blind faith. Though the situation may improve inspite of BJP due to the sacrifices of healthcare staff & common people.

Yes they are. However there is one basic problem with BJP supporter. Unlike other party supporters, they are allways critical and outspoken when they think their party does something wrong. But they will still vote for BJP as alternative is worse. Onus is on opposition to provide alternative.
 

But instead of providing credible alternative they peddle lies. For example Rafale saga. Opposition allmost convinced supporters of BJP that there was some wrongdoing by various articles and various speeches. But then when matter came on floor of house for discussion, BJP leaders burned all their lies in just couple of days and opposition had nothing to say. You can watch the debates. So opposition only makes claims outside parliament but when truth is shown they go running.

 

Covid crisis will come on floor of house and I can guarantee, all opposition will do is boycott and get out while BJP will answer everything. For example i was pissed on Yogi for conducting Gram Panchayat elections during pandemic. It was absolutely unforgivable decision in my opinion as Gram Panchayat election can wait. But only now , today I came to know that some asshole had filed a petition and Allahabad High Court had ordered UP Govmnt to conduct election and declare results by May 10.

 

Now, I have been saying that data collection in runup to pandemic is probably root cause. Lets see objectively who was in power in most major cities. Kolaka -Mamata, Chennai- Aiadmk, Dlhi Kejri , Mumbai- Vasooli Bhaiya.

 

So, i will wait for issue to come in parliament. And then make my mind.

Realistically a total of less than 0.5% of the population of India will pass away directly or indirectly due to covid. The very vast majority are not touched by this. As is the case in most countries.

The truth is if what my relatives in mumbai say is true, BJP will do rather well in maharashtra due to the bungling from the opposition. Maharashtra has had the most cases and deaths in both covid waves.

 

I notice the international media wilfully ignores this aspect.

That is not what i have observed so far.  Most of them would stick up for every goddamn thing he does. This is the first time i see. Basically because they lost their dear ones.  Just because there is no viable opposition it is not right to look the other way. So basically if there is no opponents at all they are permitted to whatever they want?  Modi is a polarizing figure. He will win as long as he is around unless and until there is a strong leader emerging from the other party. It is a travesty that India has no strong opposition party. In any other country they would have faced the heat.

As I already mentioned I dont even know where are you from (Lets just not talk about Hard core supporter and chest thumping), I was only replying to the guy who mentioned about people being pissed off, There are "many" from my college circle who are living abroad doing their residency, we often talk weekly on various platforms who are still stubborn not knowing anything about the situation here, doing their residency happily (Not so happily now) there.Even if you are qualified for all three category I mentioned (NRI, Hard Core Supporter, Chest thumper), It was not meant for you as world is large and I dont know you and If I wanted to engage with anyone here I would directly quote that person. It was just a general observation about my people and I posted to vvs when he mentioned..
