Now poor farmers going back and fro from village to protest site are risking their lives for post pandemic world order. Also we all blame BJP for not operating the ventilators or not following COVID guidelines or Vaccine wastage or highest death rate in Punjab.

Mariyam Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 IAS is the successor organisation to ICS, which was basically an organization formed by the Brits to adminsiter India using Indians. The ICS resulted in a lot of Indians getting formally educated in certain parts of the country ( mainly South India initially) and getting 'plush' posts everywhere. This was a typical British ploy. Antagonize one set of subjects against another. To make the oppressed fight against each other. Luckily the fissures caused in the Indian society were not that large. However, it did result in distrust of the civic administration by the people. Also many of the ICS cadre were discriminated against and upstaged by British people of far lesser calibre. That caused a lot of mistrust among the cadre towards the government. And this legacy of distrusting the administration by the people and mistrust of the government has been carried forward even after independence. Khota and coffee_rules 2

Like I said it is a Brit model which is not valid anymore.

What is wrong with my suggestion of only to hire people who have experience in private industry for decades.

Will a lawyer with 20 years experience make a better Distric Magistrate or a kid who is good at recall and regurgitate exam?

Another assumption - All DMs are young kids. There are 6500 IAS officers in India. Number of IAS selected each year is around 200. Which means 70% IAS would be 10+ years of experience. 3. 20 years experienced lawyer has lesser chances of become better admin than 10 years guy already as DM. 4. Any new profession will require person to spend 5-10 years just to get accustomed to it. A 20 years exp lawyer will have another 15 years left in his career. By the time he learns tricks of trade, he will be close to retirement. 5. Labelling IAS as kid good at recall regurgitate. They are IT professionals, doctors, managers and some random lawyer is better than him. 6. Why will a person already successful in his career will want to switch field?
