India became diverse because of it's unmatched wealth before the middle ages. Now that diversity is dragging it down. India always had 15 to 20 pc of world population because of arable land resource almost 2 to 4 times larger than top 5 largest nations and 2 annual harvests. That's puts it equal to Europe or sub saharan Africa in terms of food production only challenge is land based and mineral resource which obviously is scarce when compared to bigger nations , as industrialization exploited more and more resources India became super poor and its strength with large population became a weakness in Western indicators. Aus Canada etc are simply mineral rich vacant lands with 25 35 mil people it's not a comparison with the sea of humanity that India has supported for aeons. Edited June 25, 2021 by Vilander

One thing I will give them credit for is their ability to be independent from a young age. That quality is appreciated. Overall they are not thinkers lmao or smart. Just plain average. They are good at communicating as English is their main language. There is always few geniuses but they are rare. Well then the good thing is that Australia and Australians will never be a great country like India, and yet here you are.

We have people from every country on earth that call Australia home and we thrive in that diversity. Australia's strength is it's diversity, why can't India succeed? Australia's saying is "United we stand, divided we fall" why can't India stand united? We have our moments of unity. Most revolve around cricket. Last time I remember Indians united and rallied around a convergent point was when a second string India missing most of its regular starters defeated an Australian side at the Gabba fortress. Imagine a barely cohesive group of malnourished cricketers from a country with failing institutions beating the alleged rashk e janan ( for the unlettered, it means envy of the heavens) Australia. What a day! We all celebrated then. Hindu and Muslim. North and South. Malnourished and famished. Barely educated and the uneducated. Your well fed athletes give us a lot of reason to unite. Hero worshipping culture in India needs to stop I mean why do I as a consumer need advise from Kohli to purchase a tyre or an insurance policy.. personal research and reviews gaye * marane Your understanding of Indians/ advertisements is off the mark. Strange that you feel compelled to call all Indians as low IQ, but miss out on some really simple concepts of advertising yourself. The entire point of an advert is to increase awareness. That is where your Kohlis and Dhonis come into the picture. The point of having them flash their smile when selling whatever. People know of the existence of the brands. Or is it replayed many times and reinforced into their conscience. Honestly speaking, no one really does any research before buying FMCG products. But for tyres etc, once aware of various options, the 'low IQ Indians' also do their share of research/asking around. But you can only research brands that you can recall. I know what concepts of advertising are: using your logic why do cricketers in Eng and Aus etc don’t endorse fmcg products. Let alone sports products- I have never seen an English cricketer endorsing something on tv. Even footballers who are equivalent to Indian cricketers limit their endorsements to sports related products on TV If awareness is the metric you’re talking about, an advert being on tv is awareness as people watch tv…? Having Kohli’s or any other cricketer or actors face on it is merely driving up prices for consumers ( as I’m sure you know the cost of advertising for companies is budgeted into prices and May affect quality in the name of maintaining profits) Mariyam 1

England have had many ads on the backs of footballers. David Beckham and his wife have appeared on adverts of various categories of products. Even on the other side of the pond. Perhaps England do not have a super star in football anymore? No one in the league of a Kohli/Beckham. English actors have regularly appeared in adverts. Benedict Cumberbatch. Hugh Grant even at this age. For daily use products/cars/library subscriptions etc. Adverts are over some OTT platforms too. Or even YT. Not just TV. In India, the sponsorship contracts can be different. Take for example India Cements. They have a sponsorship contract with CSK and as captain Dhoni is contractually obligated to appear in ads to do with India Cements. And this is a mainly B2B product. The average person doesn't even buy cement. One can actually argue that the reason a MSD delayed retirement is because he would have been bound by his sponsors to play for a certain number of years to maximise 'exposure' of the brand. Kohli's ads have driven up sale of ViVO. That is all recorded data. He has a huge sway on the millenials. Makes sense for the brands to engage him.

For all we know other brands may satisfy these better, but if millennials are purely buying products based on who’s endorsing it then that’s the crux of my argument.. it’s down to hero worshipping as opposed to actually thinking “ do I actually need this product or how is it actually better than the alternative ”? I mean it’s all good for the capitalist markets and profit making agenda.. but that’s reinforcing my point about low iqs. an example of this is the acoustic earphone brand that Kohli was endorsing, when you go on reviews of their products, it’s full of negative ones of product quality and customer support… now did Kohli endorsing it make it automatically the right product? No and people have burned their hands after purchasing it purely down to reasons of a celebrity endorsement. Edited June 25, 2021 by LordPrabhzy

This is especially true in current age. BCCI is only concerned about how to maximize their revenue. They choose a captain and give him a free reign. This was not always the case. E.g. despite winning 1983 WC, Kapil lost captaincy after 1987 WC SF loss and never got it back. Kohli has lost 3 important final/semifinals matches and there are still no questions asked about his captaincy. Lord, Vijy and mani sha 1 1 1
