About selection - Bhuvi+Thakur+Nagaswalla are best swing bowlers with excellent control.None of them is in scheme of things .

There is one and only one reason. Allowing this guy to ruin the opportunity created by one of the greatest fightbacks in cricket is a travesty. Sadly, there is more in store till he goes, which won't be any time soon. Time to follow some other sport or pick up a new hobby till that happens!

India is a bloody sick joke.

They lose these stupid matches before they even begin with retarded selection and with an arrogant captain that believes that a "one off match" does not define them over a period as the top test nation.

Despite all these stupid reasons, if Kohli gave India just one decent captain's knock in either innings, India would have at least drawn the game.

I think the only way for India to become a clinical unit is by setting quantifiable targets for the team. Create a goal, set a target and work towards it. Ideally Pujara should have retired by the end of this WTC cycle. Test matches need to be incentivised. The selectors need to look beyond statistics to identify the players who can stand out in adverse situations. Making a 200 on a flat pitch should not be our benchmark. Search for those players who can grind out tough sessions against varied attacks and can withstand pressure. I feel we're becoming too one dimensional with just an eye on the statistics.

Create a strict rule that a player needs to be part of at least 4 Ranji matches in the domestic home season if he wants to qualify for the test side. Playing practice matches should also be a must. No player should be an exception. We are already gifted with a pool of 30 odd players to choose from. Choose the right mix when touring. There needs to be a consensus when selecting teams - a right mix of experience, statistics and young blood.

It was so embarrassing to see us field 2 spinners when NZ have got it bang on by not bowling a single over of spin. We need to select intelligent people who can ascertain the conditions before the match rather than while doing post mortem. If we were a hopeless team like in the 90s, no one would care. But we have all bases covered but still we're unable to make a mark. Painful to see...

Cant blame the tail but why fast bowlers lack basic batting skills? No team can afford 4 number 11s and this is what is stopping us from playing a four-prong pace attack even in helpful conditions.

Vikram Rathore is busy sucking dicks.

Can some one remind me why Bhuvi was not picked for a test final in England? Our best proven swing bowler in the conditions.. I would even take a chahar over ashaddu

He had denied that

So that means news that he is unfit is false. Assumption by journo that he has no zeal to play test cricket is untrue.

It means he wasn’t selected.

For some strange reason, Pujara got IPL contract (~50 lacs)….was it worth it? He and Rahane should have been in England and playing county cricket as preparation for this important match. New Zealand had 2 proper tests, we could have planned it better.

Good point.

Pujara, Rahane, Ishant and maybe even Ashwin could have easily skipped the IPL and played county like Vihari.
