There are at least 20 other football teams which are better than Germany. Hockey just have a few now with India resurgence, Netherlands, NZ, Pakistan and even the likes of Malaysia and Korea were competitive at one point now its smaller Europe nations like Belgium

Different era mate. Pakistan dominated on different surfaces. 

 

Astro is different. I know Pakistan won on astro as well but teams are playing St a much higher pace and intensity now.
