Agree, apna time aayega. 

 

But skill gap between the TT players here was too big, Srikanth and declined Lin Dan much closer in strength. Sharath surprised everybody, if only he had taken that 3rd set!!!!

Pistol shooter Chinki Yadav had to endure mental agony after she was excluded from the Tokyo Olympic Games squad despite winning a quota place in 2019.

 

"It is difficult to explain the mental suffering I went through on being dropped from the squad for the Olympics. My gold medal winning performance in the New Delhi World Cup in March (2021) was overlooked. But support from parents has helped me come out of depression," Chinki told IANS from Bhopal. Last month,  National Rifle Association of India NRAI excluded the pistol shooter from the Tokyo-bound squad and handed her spot to rifle shooter  Anjum Moudgi  since the quota is for the country and not individual shooter. NRAI didn't consider Chinki among the best two shooters in the 25 metre pistol event, and picked Manu Baker and  Rahi Sarnobat  ahead of her.A country can field only two shooters in a discipline. Moudgil will compete in women's 50m rifle 3 positions. Chinki said she will not debate NRAI's policy, but feels there should have been room for current performance.

 

Now the funny thing is

 

Chinki Is WORLD NO 1 in 25 m pistol for women as per latest ranking and she would have a better chance than Manu ( world no 7) if not Rahi ( world no 2). Jaspal Rana apparently wanted Manu to only compete in 10 m Pistol.

Tokyo Olympics 2021: Australian women's and men's fours win gold in thrilling finals

 

Australia has a new era of 'Oarsome Foursome' glory at the Olympics.

 

The Aussie men's and women's fours teams won gold within half an hour of each other on Wednesday, both in thrilling finals at the Tokyo Games.

 

The Aussie women's team was Lucy Stephan, Rosemary Popa, Jessica Morrison and Annabelle McIntyre. Popa joined her mother, Sue Chapman-Popa, as an Olympic medallist in the event (bronze at Los Angeles 1984).

 

The Australians went out strong and covered the 2000m in 6:15.37, beating a fast-finishing Netherlands team by just 0.34. Ireland came third.

Australia doing very well after a period of decline for most of 2010s. GBR, ROC, Japan, Canada etc. doing so well. China will be pleased.

Following Chak De India script, there we lost heavily to Australia initially (trusting @Mariyam to tell us about that scoreline/game and reasons for defeat) but went on to win gold beating them in the final. Truly that movie was ahead of its time, just swap genders but same result in 2021. 

 

That SRK was good yam, wonder what happened to his choice of films after the mid-2000s.
