Bogus article. It's a problem because our batsmen aren't doing their job. Has there been an article yet on the bowling problem for India because none of the batsmen contribute AT ALL?

The cricinfo author had an article to churn out so he dumped this mess on the readers.

100% . Bowlers' job to get 20 wickets which they are doing mostly in recent years .

Question is about batting Overseas , one of the worst even if you go back  80 onwards  except for 2-3 years in between.

Every cricket fan knows now bowling is not the problem, its batting .

We've been harping about this for at least 3-4 years now! But so long as Brat wins home series everything is obviously fine :cheer:

That's BS, despite the experience some of these guys have - especially Sharmaji, can you find me one series where they outbowled the best opposition bowlers? And how about bowling out the tail, who's *ing job is that :whack3:

It's a collective failure, you don't lose 4-1 to Eng or 3-0 to NZ (after WTC final) just because the batters were sh!t

Our white ball batting depth is insane but yea sadly red ball batting depth isnt every exciting.

As much everyone wants to see rahane or pujara exist, it wont be some great after that. Rohit also doesnt have to many years in test acc to me.

The only silver linning has been rishabh pant.

Take kohlis captaincy away so we can have him back as batsman for next few yrs. He is a fitness freak so he ll definately end up playing more then his contemporaries.

what do you mean outbowl?Do you want them to get opposition out under 200 because that's what our batsmen have been scoring. In England 2018,we lost 2 because we couldnt chase 190 and 245.Same thing in SA where a series win was there for the taking. In NZ we scored sub 200 scores. In WTC we scored 207 &170.Bowlers have nothing to work with .

The last time we conceded 400 in SENA was in 5th Test on a relatively flatter track in England 2018.

Bowlers have been very decent. If batsmen were also this good,we wouldn't need the tail to save us.

We'd have been chasing less than 100 if Curran didn't tonk everyone around like net bowlers, not to mention none of these chumps even have the ability to survive let along strike a few lusty blows like Zaheer or even Srinath could do in the past! What about WTC final, don't you remember that either? Ideally 190 should've chased but in tough conditions it's always the home team that has a massive upperhand, do you recall last time someone chased near/over 200 vs India in India?

they still scored 287 and 180,in which world is that too much?

Sam Curran is not a tailender, hes no. 8 and our no. 8 like Ashwin,Thakur etc also have done well.

Yeah,in WTC despite scoring 207 &170,190 should have been chased, excellent. These guys(3 seniors) just had to bat one session out to ensure a draw and they couldn't even do that.

Yes no one has chased 200 in India.Thats why we are a monster at home. But I don't see oppositions blaming their tailenders for that

Yes it's definitely a big concern and before mouthing off about batsman being unable to bowl, please tell me the name of a batsman from England whose bowling actually had any impact in our last tour their. Lol

SENA teams don't have a single batsman who can actually bowl seam, yes they have some pie chuckers (off spinners, handy only on Spinning cobras) but they don't count for much, do they?

Learning to bat a bit is way way more easier than learning to bowl seam up.

Your dibbly dobbly 100kph bowling won't account for much 99% of the times but your hard earned 15 runs can definitely create an impact. (in our case 45 runs off three tailenders)

Root got 5/8 in Ahmedabad. Its another matter their batsmen were too **** to capitalise. But then they didnt blame thier tail lol

Please read my post again, I said apart from bunsen burners there's not much use of these bowlers, secondly on a lush green seamer I won't blame our tailenders for the collapse. But what about relatively flatter pitches, they do zilch there too. You get my point?

if India has turners,England has green mambas where a Ganguly level bowler can be very handy. But we dont have any.

Even Pujara,Rahane have been bad in India for a while now, tail toh door ki baat. Atleast they bowl well consistently enough

Right, can you find me the last test where a "Ganguly level" test bowler picked up a fifer in England? How many wickets did CDG pick up in WTC final or vs Eng btw? Controlling the moving bowl, especially Duke's, is an art & not many can do it! Compared to that bowling darts & take 5/6 (remember Clarke?) in India is much much easier!

You're defending the indefensible, these chumps are sh!t in the field & literally sh!t with the bat - they're our modern version of 1D has beens!

Ganguly bowling isn't comparable to De Grandhomme's.

Also there's absolutely no batsman in any other team who actually has much impact with the ball except the odd match on a turner(one in 30 games).

We don't need a Ganguly typw bowler who can pick one wicket when conditions are in his favour we need a good tail like England who puts up 60 runs every match.  One off wickets on turners( or lush green seamer) don't really matter on the other hand 50-60 runs in each innings matters a lot.

Well that's the point, CDG is much better than Ganguly but even in conditions tailor made for him he didn't pick up 5 wickets across 2 innings! Bowling with the Duke's is much harder than people think, that's probably why Lee, Steyn, Starc, MJ & Shami have poor records in England. Now I do remember that some of the newer batches move a lot more than what I've seen in the past, whether that's also due to the spiced up pitches or not is the only (major) thing to consider. In terms of pacers who've done great in Eng consistently there's actually very few - Marshall/Holding/Walsh then McGrath & Hadlee(?) from recent memory. I've omitted the ball tamperers for obvious reasons.

Dude, you have audacity to defend these morons, they aren’t bad they are worst even i would say they are the worst lower order in entire Indian cricket history even associate teams have better tailenders than these chutiyas.10/2 or 10/3 is a norm in Eng/NZ condition Last time our top 5 did far better than their top 5  Kohli alone scored more than 2- 3 players  ,it was their lower order who bailed them out in every time   .could you back these Bumrah’s ,shami’s ,Sharma’s to defend 20 balls let alone making 20 runs .In Eng/Nz condition lower order runs does matter .The moment 6th wicket fall we couldn’t make 10 runs
