Still a coincidence that only a person who went to the book event got it first. Other players/officials went to same hotel,  hotel lobby, restaurant and didnt get. Its clear shashtri got it first and spread

It seems the hesitant player is a senior batsman, since likely replacements for him are Vihari/SKY.

Only Ravi Shastri didn't go there. Kohli was there too. Many players were there too.

I think it's called off for two days. It may start on Sunday if another round of tests turn negative.

Match day will be postponed by 2 days or entire test can be called off. It will always be a 5 day test regardless of when it starts

There is no forfeit.  ECB has not mentioned that. ICC Rules clearly say that matches will be abandined due to covid, not forfeited. Eng did this in SA. Do you think Aus matches in SA would count in SA points?

 

If there is forfeit,  wtc points table will give 12 points to Eng. That is not happening.

 

Also the ecb word for the match is 'cancelled'. A forfeited match means a completed match. I am almost sure there wont be any test match in Eng next year. We have won the series 2-1.

the idea that several players are not currently in the midst of incubating infection is silly, whatever the PCR test result. it had to be called off.
