The flight was a chartered one. No public allowed.

They were tested before boarding the fight ... tested negative ... travelled for a few hours ... were tested on arrival again ... tested negative ... will be quarantined again for 6 days.

If they played the test then ... tested negative before play ... someone turns positive within 5 days ( not a matter of a few hours or a day ) ... then the test match and our team will be in total disarray.

Different situations.

No, most players are going in commercial flight, only star players kohli, rohit and bumrah are going in charted flights paid by their IPL team.  A close proximity closed flight is much more risky than playing in open grounds.

Rohit, Bumrah and SKY have already used chartered flight.

Kohli And Siraj will too.

I don't have any info about other players ... but I don't support the use of commercial airlines in this case.

Things just got more interesting.

Fellow ICFers, leave your personal likes/dislikes or opinion about Kohli aside and look at things objectively.

If this news is even partly true, that means India wasn't looking to avoid the test. 2-3 days postponement is a fine request if you look at the covid incubation period.

All we have heard till now is from English media sources, mainly of the gutter variety like Daily Mail and The Sun. And of course ECB has launched a PR blitz in online space, backed by their naukars from Pak, and other BCCI/India/IPL haters.

Thoughts?

With all due disrespect for Kohli, there is some use to his antics. ECB has been using its PR overdrive to claim the moral high ground but this gives a different perspective. I don't know why BCCI is lazy to not seize the PR initiative. Maybe Dhoni and Kohli should be mentors for BCCI with regard to PR. Or better else bring back Srini mama :protest:

implication being that they weren't exactly quarantining anyway inspite of saying that they are scared of playing.

They may have been doing that before knowing physio being positive. Once it was know, they were all confined to the rooms after getting tested. Practice session was also cancelled. Don't believe in every rumour. Why would they do grocery shopping in Manchester anyway!

we don't know everything yet. this story was reported on indian media via inshorts though maybe it came from some english source. Players haven't been restricted in their movement throught the series unlike in Australia.

I really dont understand how delaying by 2 days would have helped? If they were worried about becoming positive in 2 days, why are they now flying out in private and commercial airlines without waiting for some days?

what would waiting achieve?

Concern was testing positive in middle of match and be super spreader,

Yea but they could play too as they were negative at the moment. I will ask the same question, they were too afraid to play deapite being negative because some had covid.but not too afraid to fly and mingle with others for IPL?

if it was LOI they'd have played. Here they can become positive in middle of Test.

They won't play until the incubation period is over and they test negative.
