Can India win home tests on auto pilot?

Aus will tour India next October. Should be a cracker of a series, entertaining....we will likely win 3-0, 3-1, maybe even 4-0. But probably last time Smith, Warner, Starc, Hazlewood, Lyon play red ball cricket in India.

 

Though they keep losing to us, can't deny there is some serious star power and box office quality in current Aussie team. Match ups will be so fun, Smith vs our legendary bowling attack, Cummins/Hazlewood vs Rohit/Kohli, Pant vs Lyon...high intensity cricket, aggression, sledging, mind games, controversies, thrillers, momentum going back and forth, players coming from nowhere to steal the show (O'Keefe, Shaun Marsh/Handscomb in Ranchi, Siraj, Gill,  Sundar, Lord Thakur).

 

Man I love BG series. 2017 and 2020-21 editions were among the best in modern era of test cricket.

Hope buildup is good, BCCI should market it well, provide traditional Indian pitches (both sides have brilliant pace attacks, so they should be in play), maybe add a test to make it 5 test series. Ind-Aus deserves 5 test series, not Ind-Eng or Aus-Eng.

Second rate venues like Ranchi, Indore, Vizag, Rajkot, Mohali (pathetic crowds in tests) should be avoided at all costs

On turning pitches, yes the team will stream roll all opposition.

 

On fair Indian pitches (which do not take sharp turn from day 1), this team will still have it's challenges vs decent batting sides. Bumrah and Ashwin get blunted on these tracks. If it's not abrasive enough, Shami and Umesh become less effective as well. But barring exceptions (like 1st test vs Eng), we will still win 

 

I do hope, going forward we do not produce atrocious pitches to win home series. The team is good enough to win vs everyone on all kinds of pitches.

There we didnt have Shami,Umesh,Jaddu,Axar. Nadeem bowled badly and released all the pressure,

 

We can win on such surfaces too,specially if we fix middle order.

i dont know why, even though aussies keep getting their butts kicked by us, i fear them the most. I am sure india will win but aussies will fight without doubt. it will be a close series. 2 - 0. or 2 - 1 again. 

 

However, if india is at full strength then india may win 3 - 1. I feel we will lose 1 game for sure. 

 

aussies are the only side capable of giving india a tough fight in india. Infact off late i would say they play better in india than in australia lmao.

Aus can give us a scare only if Smith is in beast mode. Like how he scored 499 runs with 3 100s last time (more than entire Indian team).

 

If he has a 300-350 runs series, we will crush the Aussies. 

 

In 2017 some of our bowlers were carrying injuries or were missing, next year he may have to repeat his magic against full strength Indian attack, will be tough even for a beast like him.

little bit of a soft spot for aussies cause i live here. I dont want to see them humiliated but a nice 2 0 would be sweet. i agree, india needs to be missing several players and have many out of form or past it players for any team to stand a chance. Hell it needed an ATG level team to beat an old decrepit weaker past it has been side in 2011. That too after an extensive amount of prep games. 

 

even with many players out, i feel indian youngsters somehow step up and crush teams. Regardless, i believe it will be a tough series. Yes i agree smith needs to score 400 plus runs for them to stand a chance. 

 

yea this indian bowling attack is relentless machine. It is scary to face them and its a nightmare even for the greatest of players. 

 

we just need to replace 2 players in the middle to be the best of all time. serious. if we get 2 good middle order players, we can be on par with aussies of 2000. 

 

i am hoping those 2 are gill, sundar and shaw.
