Why has India performed better without Hardik in the last 5-6 years?

Ya I am bit surprise that this mediocre cricketer get so much attention. He is not even at the level of Yusuf Pathan , irfan was altogether in different league and performe with bat and ball till the time he played. I think someone can make a fan club of Pandya's institute of fake alrounder degree to get selected in Indian team.We will start enrolling all fake alrounder from here on and give certificate, but I doubt there is anyone.

Incorrect.

If you follow NHL/NBA - you'd know better.

In playoffs for example -  if you are so utter **** like Pandya has been then you will be benched within 2-3 bad games , I am not even talking about 2 or 3 series but 2 or 3 game and you get a night or two off.

If your goalie is not 100 % fit , even if he's 90  % fit - you're out - The next guy will take your place and you come back when you're ready.

For 2 years Pandya has been carrying injuries and not even fulfilling his role as an "all rounder" -  its a shame that someone cannot complete his role is being carried as a legacy pick

Let alone sports , If you are a surgeon - but your vision or hand eye co-ordination is affected - you wouldn't be doing surgeries.

If you are an air traffic controller - you need to have an assessment quite often

I'm sure in many other fields as well, if you aren't meeting your targets- you'd be expected to sit out

You can't bench whole team because whole team sucks in knockouts. Our captain Kohli has 0 performance in ODI WC knockouts.

Don't know about other formats but in tests definitely His presence would have affected had we persisted with him. He was dropped in Australia series 2018-19 and team balance looked altogether different,India could play extra batsman/bowler whose place was being taken by Pandu on the ground of one 90 odd run innings against SA.. Apart from that,In LOIs/T20s,those wins in his absence are purely matter of coincidence. For Example India would not have won this wt20 even If we had peak Yurvaj(2007 wt20) if the bowlers are picking 0 wickets and openers are buying ducks. It is proven that His and Jaddu's inclusion don't balance this team, on the contrary it provides an appearance on surface that team is balanced and all the bases are covered which isn't reality..Jaddu-the fraud has been playing T20 WC since eternity and yet he isn't dropped. Same will happen with Pandya.

I know this is a troll thread but even then it's not fair! There's an undisputed panauti that really stands out since he's taken over captaincy with an empty cabinet when it comes to worthwhile trophies (WC, T20 WC, WTC, CT etc)

Hardik Pandya and his little minion Krunal Pandya have been one of the worst leeches for Indian Cricket....

The Pandya brother have literally made me miss Irfan and Yusuf pathan who weren't stellar themselves.

What boggles my mind even more is the continued obsession and persistence with Hardik despite the fact that the guy isn't bowling / isn't consistent with the bat / is injured and not fully fit - Even bigwigs like Sachin/ Ganguly/ Yuvraj were not given such a long leash and what were expected to perform than be a passenger in the team -  This makes me wonder where Indian cricket is going in the right direction?   Who is behind this blind backing for certain players ? Kohli or the TM ?  No team should be so dependent on one player to this extent of how dependent India has been on Pandya and wouldn't let go like some sort of psychotic obsession.

I don't mine putting players like Abdul Samad / Shardul Thakur/ V Iyer etc or whosoever is the next prospect but give the youngsters a chance  -  We are still searching for the next Yuvraj Singh/ Irfan Pathan -  Hardik isn't the answer -  Indian team needs to move on

You have brought a brilliant point. The way some go gaga over Pandya,. Not sure what would have been their reaction had they seen Sachin, Saurav or Yuvaraj in their pomp. Each was standout LOI batsman of their team/era and very handy with the ball. None of them were genuine allrounders but good enough to bowl for 4-5 overs and even take wickets.

Let me throw @zen a bone here. He was part of the Asia cup winning team in 2016 in the T20 format but my point still stands.

Didn't he got himself injured during that tournament?

Comparing strike rate of a no. 6 7  player who started his career in 2016 to 1980s 1990s and noughties player

Logic is ma-bahen :). And also compare the bowling line-ups of Aus, WI, Pak, SA, SL that was there in 90s that they faced  with that of present day.

In Tests, yeah I was very glad that he was out for the England and Australia series. Could have completely screwed up the balance.

Everytime I see such threads on SDP including during IPL, it is usually a good sign for SDP.

There have been various performance tracker threads where the OP eventually ran out of steam.

zen master can tell no wrong :om:
