As per a report in Dainik Jagran, he informed UPCA of his unavailability for the Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Hopefully a precautionary step to be fit and available for the SA A Tour later this month.

Going by the report, UPCA hasn't taken kindly to him opting out and they have questioned his commitment for UP State team. Knowing these administrators, I fear he may not get picked for Ranji trophy now.

The draws are so confusing. The second placed team in each group played Prelim QFs include the Plate group. But again for QFs, it has been drawn as a lottery for some teams. So Bengal and Kar who were in the same group end up playing QFs. This is unfair and other teams get a free ride in the QFs. Like Guj plays Hyd who were in different groups.

Very confusing draw. Top two teams from each group and the top team from plate group could have been split into two groups for the main round before the knock outs.

 

Hasn't been a very well thought through schedule. Nothing beats the absurdity of matches in North India starting at 8/ 8.30 in the morning! Plus most pitches have been more like the FC pitches. An opportunity lost
