Cut him some slack. He was playing his first game and hit a boundary of the first ball under pressure. That shot of the second ball was unnecessary as India just required run a ball but again he will learn. He is a great talent and we need to persist, don't forget he bowls useful medium pacers as well. He will be an asset but again he needs to open, Rahul or Rohit can drop down to 3.

I guess after 11 from 4 last game, today's knock was stabilizing the ship.

When is Scotland or Namibia touring India, need to conclude our latest addition to the Sobers club.

Who are these guys?

How many guys can start hitting first ball in a crunch game like Marsh did?Even in IPL

How many guys can power hit at 6 and bowl seam. We have Hardik who bowls on and off and now Venky who just started.

You'll get them different answers on who our best leggie is let alone be better than Zampa,Hasaranga etc.

How many left arm quicks like Starc?

Aus is not the best T20 team and won partly due to tosses but still they have more talent in T20s

Marsh was just lucky. His batting was as crappy as it can get. Luck was on his side bcos every shot he played apart from forst one, he could have lost his wicket.

Australia won the toss as well. Put a seroes between England and Australia and england will beat the 4/5 times. So lets not go too much into this lottery world cup.

Starc 0lays IPL and has been treated left right and centre in IPL.

He was not timing the ball against quality bowler like Southee ,Boult on a flat pitch  all his boundary coming off the edge Rohit is not bowling him when others bowlers were  going for runs makes me thing he is not a very good bowler.

He has dropped a easy catch as well. Not impressed

Is he another Shivam Dubey  ?

I believe he can be judged if he play in his preferred position at top and be fearless and then judged.

It will be mistake if he is asked to do a job at 5 0r 6 which he hasn't done at IPL.

In both matches both teams were timing easily on the beginning but found in difficult in the later half. Even settled batsmsn. Won't judge batsmen based on that

You are right. I don't think we have any good all rounders.

We need to just pick batsmen with high strike rate, power and ability to play pull shot cut shots.

Playing out of position, they need to give him time and the required support to nurture him

Will they allow him to open in the final game?

With an eye on the next WC squad, they need to ample opportunities to prove their mettle.

You walk into the Indian dressing room, everybodys a star in their own rights..Can be very intimidating for a rookie like him

Atleast Marsh backed himself and played shots. Our guys were batting like tailenders trying to save the match.

England is better than Australia. How does that argument help India or IPL?

Liked his intent after 4 wickets. Kept going on.

Needs to stay in middle order and improve.

Bowling wise not much pace/variations but seems to have the brains/accuracy.

he has done well in VHT, and was rightly selected for SA ODI squad. I hope that he'll get chances to prove himself there. His bowling is rather ordinary, but hopefully he continues to work on that. In batting, he should look to improve strike rotation further, among others.
