Serpico Posted December 5, 2021 Posted December 5, 2021 Starts in 3 days. Cummins revealed XI for first test 1. Warner 2. Harris 3. Marnus 4. Smith 5. Head 6. Green 7. Carey 8. Cummins 9. Starc 10. Lyon 11. Hazlewood Sgattick10 1
Serpico Posted December 5, 2021 Author Posted December 5, 2021 It'll be interesting to see how he rotates the pacers. Will he take the new ball away from Starc if starts bowling crap again? Maybe Smith will just captain on the field with Cummins handling press meets? Very important series for Lyon. Another home series failure will put a lot of pressure on him
vayuu1 Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 (edited) Expecting a rout of england but u never now as this year has been for touring teams, one thing is for sure england batters have to come to the party if england has to compete in this series Edited December 7, 2021 by vayuu1
poyzzplaidwell Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Will miss Boxing day test match this year as I am in India these guys. Anyways hoping for crushing Aussie win. Never want England to win anything in sports. Anyways it will be very hard for them as except from Root and Stokes, who else is capable of putting the Big 4 of Australian bowling under pressure. I have a feeling Starc will rip it up this Ashes.
HamHindustani Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Harris and Head are two clear weaknesses. Australia will be favourates. Barring Stokes, I am not sure who can take the fight to Aus. Root had been in good form but I dont see him making a huge impact.
Chalks Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Attending Boxing Day and (Omicron variant permitting) the first two days of the Sydney New Year test. Perth won't be hosting the final test because of WA's border restrictions, so Hobart, Canberra, or a second test in either Melbourne or Sydney appear to be the options. Anderson not playing in Brisbane (ostensibly being kept fresh for the Adelaide pink ball test). Ollie Robinson is probably the bowler to watch for the tourists. Clarke and nevada 2
Sgattick10 Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Awesome! HamHindustani, Lone Wolf, nevada and 2 others 1 1 3
Lone Wolf Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Harris will terrorize Poms this Ashes.. You read it here first. He was in top form in County cricket. Thank you lord Shardul for dislodging him at 2nd inns in Gabba. He looked flawless until then.
Serpico Posted December 7, 2021 Author Posted December 7, 2021 Woakes will do much better this time, he looked terrific since his return from injury

GeeGaw Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 F England. I hope they get bowled out for 0 every innings. Clarke and Norman 2
Jay Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 * England. One of the most overrated series in the world. Nothing beats border gavaskar trophy. I will still watch some of it. Only the bowling of Aussies. Don't care about other stuff. raki05 and GeeGaw 2
Lone Wolf Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Poms always arrive with a lot of pomp.. It takes one beating at the start to bring them back to reality. I expect their bowling attack to copy India's methods as hinted by their bowlers & coaches but Aussies will come very hard at them. Expecting a massive thrashing at the Gabba to Poms. 2 D/N tests.. They will nick one I think & end Australia's unbeaten run in D/N games

They have 1 express bowler in Wood but he can be a spray gun.. So they have pace but I doubt if rest of their bowlers are as good. They made a right call to drop Anderson in Gabba as he will be unleashed in D/N game & no use of him here. They can't outbowl Aussie pacers & their spinners aren't as quality as Ash or Jaddu. Smith n Marnus like their attack. So it's little grim scenario for them. Robinson has to step up big time & deliver some McGrath esque spell to make it interesting.
Norman Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 I have always supported the away side in the Ashes but this time I really hope Aussies beat the ever loving crap of England. Will make our win look even better.. GeeGaw, New guy and raki05 1 2
