Can Jimmy Anderson play 200 tests?

He has got 168 test matches currently. But he is still the best bowler England have got and off late, he seems to be performing well everywhere.

 

Is there a chance that he may well play a few years of cricket more and go past Tendulkar's tally of 200 test matches? England does play a lot of tests so even with a few breaks, he can get there in 3 years time if he continue playing like this.

Yes he will be bowling to pujara, kohli & rahane in his 200th match in India's tour of England 2025.

I don't think so. although eng play about 12-13 tests per year, he is rested in at least 1/3rd of them or deemed not suitable for conditions. for the remaining 32 tests, he will need to play 3.5-4 yrs. I don't seem that happening: he is not tom brady.

He was saving himself for this Ashes series which is done and dusted. Maybe he will now be motivated to play that remaining one game against us, whenever that happens.

If his competition is Ollie Robinson, Ben Stokes and even Broad .... yeah why not even 250? England's cupboard is bare in batting and bowling. Jimmy looks in far better shape than Bairstow for example.

he will probably play return ashes, since it will be in home conditions.

Nope, don't see him playing another 3 years since Eng is selective & rotates bowlers.

What is point in him playing another 30 plus tests.He should have been kicked out already.When you need a caddy for series you are done as a player.Sachin playing 200 tests was the most ridiculous thing.

That's not right considering he's doing better than most if not all other Eng bowlers

he is their best bowler in recent times. but I doubt if he has the fitness to play several consecutive tests.

Only because the others are really *ing bad, he avg over 50(60?) in second innings over the last 2-3 years! Ok not as bad as I thought, but look at Axar

Yeah just like Kohli should be kicked out for his lackluster performance.

 

Anderson has atleast been England's best bowler recently. Not sure why he should be kicked out.

by far their best bowler. and his 1st innings is something not many people speak about; too much focus on the 2nd innings.
