i had to double check that it was him who said it, feels very out of character for him to do that but makes sense if he felt compelled to say something just because he is now the VC. lol

Perhaps he was making sure he has Kohli's blessings when he leads the team in the 1st ODI on 19th. Totally expecting Kohli to publicly praise Rahul's captaincy.

The team as a group will definitely not lose its brains collectively when they feel a decision has gone against them.

I am glad that Darryl Cullinan pointed out this is/was not one-off Kohli moment. However, nothing will come out of it as BCCI has to protect it's KING.

It is okay to be "in your face."  But what you say matters.  Pant, Siraj and others were "in your facing" the Aussies throughout the 2020-21 series, but did not cross a line on what was being said.  This was like some stupid conspiracy theory (a whole nation?  WTF?) he was putting out there accusing the SA nation of cheating to win a piddly cricket match.  If you're going to say something, make it half-way witty or relevant to the game.
