We are Indians. It is our parampara to believe S/R is overrated.

Pandya has started bowling so we can take that plus he's returning back to cricket

But needs to improve his SR, can't have another consolidator in the XI as the top3 will mostly play match loosing innings against top sides

he is coming off serious injuries and played a consolidator role for GT because of their fragile batting (with rashid at 7). once he has adjusted and is in a team with more batting depth, he can get that SR to above 150.

With Tuk Tuk Sharma & King Kong in top 3, a team needs a bunch of Kluseners or a line up like below to save a team:

Tuk tuk

KL (wk)

King Kong

ABDV >>> SKY

Miller >> Pant

Russell = SDP

Klusener >>> Axar/Jadeja/…

Otherwise not much point in dreaming about a rescue act :hmmm:

don't forget the mentally weak tuk-tuker KL in that lineup.

If you are striking at a rate less than Shreyas Iyer who atleast came to bat in first over every game due to non openers, then there are enough reasons to worry for.

Pandya S/R 132, it worked for GT but won't work for Indian team.

We already have players to play at that strike rate. His real role in Indian side will be to accelerate the scoring from the get go.

The discussion should be more about getting rid of Tuk Tuk Sharma & King Kong,  along with KL if he does not change his mindset

No player should have to adjust his game to accommodate these relics

Tuk Tuk’s avg is 19 & SR of 120

Kong’s avg is 24 & SR 117

^ And these two tend to perform like this season after season, while occupying their preferred spots where they don’t even have to adjust per the situation (as it is 0/0). Others have to depending upon how many balls they waste and when they get out

Rahul has higher SR than pandya with 30 sixes while pandya 11 sixes.
