He'll be fine - we have a full 5 man bowling unit.  Danger is when you are undermanned or conditions make the team bowl for 130 overs or something.  Not going to be an issue here.

I am impressed. If he wants to be regular captain of the team he probably should retire from T20I to maintain his workload.

 

Would be great to watch Bumrah vs Cummins captaining their side next year.

He has that Rohit like temperament. Laid back and at the same time bit pro-active. That short mind on field position for Bairstow.  A short fielder right after Bairstow was injured.

Siraj was bowling well and he should have had the confidence in him.

Yea that was weird. Siraj was in red hot form. Perhaps he just wanted to get the over done with quickly. Also he has a good record vs bairstow and stokes.

Fair point, but he did pick up 3 wickets and was on a bit of a roll - almost everything he did went right - with bat and ball.  No harm in indulging himself ahead of Siraj for one over....

Probably wanted a bit of captain v captain too. We have to be careful now. When ball is old, it can be a problem. Easier to smash. Just need the wicket of stokes or bairstow. One of them. Rest should fall.

Stokes, Cummins and Bumrah as captains. Stokes bowls a significant number of overs. Interestingly, these guys have all been better than their predecessors - Paine, Root, Kohli. 

Next what?  Rabada as Saffer captain and Shaheen as Pakistani captain?

He has to manage his workload too. He's sort of guy who can overbowl just because he wants to take responsibility

I think selectors should look past the oldies now for the skipper's role. Between Pant, Bumrah and Hardik...we should be able to do well.
