Surya kumar Yadav is a national treasure

The real reason SKY is backed so much is ....

The demand for Yadav, who works with companies such as Royal Stag, Forma Helmets, FanCraze's Faze NFT, Maxima Smartwatches, Dream11, Pintola peanut butter, and Boult Audio, has surpassed that of peers such as K.L. Rahul and Rishabh Pant. Yadav also endorses SS cricket equipment, owned by Sareen Sports Industries

This can be said for almost all ind players specially t20 batsmen

I also thought intially he was all hype but whenever I saw him bat in t20s for India and in IPL.He batted with such freedom and lack of fear of failure, I was sold on his ability.

He has not replicated any of his t20 battting.I feel he is trying to change his style in odis.He needs to go after bowling from ball one and if he gets out so be it.

Sehwag is prime example, he did not change his style much in any format and was fairly successful in all formats.

Yuvi tried to change his style in test so never could do well.

He was trying to go after bowling yesterday also, but he kept missing the ball.

It has happened to him in T20Is also. His batting in tournaments has shown that.

He needs to work on his bowling to ensure he's not completely useless when selected. As should Shreyas Iyer.  When fraud most likely fails again, we can still try out

Rohit

Gill

Kohli

Shreyas

Rahul

Pandya

SKY

Shami

Siraj

Bumrah

Kuldeep

He is 33.  His only role is batting and he is failing miserably in every game.  What bowling is he going to work upon at this age?   If the TM wants a game changing batter with X Factor at no. 5 or 6, we hv much better players like Rinku Singh.   This fraud should hv been kicked out long ago.

Only in India, it is shocking to have guys increasing their bowling workloads at any age. This guy used to bowl years ago but was banned for chucking.  There is no point in keeping the extra 6th bowler in the XI.  That combination is killing our white-ball cricket more than anything.

You have guys like Travis Head and Glenn Phillips looking to become possible 5th bowling options in their teams 30 days before the World Cup and we can't do the same?

I keep stressing on this. We just need 40 overs from the main bowlers. Pandya will give 6-8. But minimum 6. Between Iyer and SKY and ,heck, even Gill and Sharma should be increasing their bowling workloads imo.   What is the harm in that if we can increase batting depth?

Rohit and Kohli's flawed fraud strategy will cost us yet another ICC tournament even before it has begun because they'll play fraud no matter what.

No other team is hung up on this nonsense . Not even minnows.

Well then he will get out.

Issue is this - he comes in at no 6. On a good track the top order will do well and he gets to bat at over 35-40. This is when the closing bowlers for opposition start operating and they try to shut down runs by say bowling yorkers etc. Not easy to hit out all the time. Need 1s and 2s with occasional 4.

On the other hand when the track has life and 4 wickets fall inside 100 runs, it is not a T20 track. Now this fellow cannot bat on a juicy track for the bowlers because one needs to milk singles and 2s with the even less occasional 4.

50 overs on the trot is not easy - it is more intense than test cricket. Where T20 is about half a session, 50 overs is 1.5 sessions with no lunch or tea break in between. That matters too.

I don't think he will fail as miserablly as he has failed till now if he attacks from ball one.He is getting caught in between attack or build an innings.

England is showing you still can attack from ball one on any juicy track, they are okay if they get out early.SKY should adopt the same mindset.

VVS in 2000 Sydney test made up his mind to attack knowing fully well he was going to be dropped if he failed.SKY needs one big innings to prove to himself he belongs at this level.

If he goes out , he will go out on his terms playing attacking cricket rather than playing meek cricket.

India has options in chasing 300 -310 totals or setting up those scores. SKY is needed for setting up 350 plus or chasing 350 plus totals. There is no one like him in India. Will he click in odis is still up in the air. But having him the squad is right decision.

Not sure but think both Iyer and Sky's action is not clean.

lol its not that easy. Mayank is a failure even as an opener.

Just give him 10 chances now in the middle. He will score in a few matches. Literally anybody. Reliability, absorption pressure and build innings has to be established at some level. Sanju samson demonstrated in one of the match where he made 86.

but his role is not to be reliable or build innings. Its to take the game away from opposition by scoring quick. Inconsistency is by-product of that high risk approach.

So far he failed but its also worked in T20 so some hope is there.Just needs to stop pre meditation. Today's knock was better in that regard.

SKY made a far better knock v same SA side in WT20 2022. No real reason he can't adapt to ODIs. Its actually weird he hasn't.

In one dayers vast majority of the time you have to build and finish. Very raely you will be required to start going after bowling.  You could be in at 10/3, 15/4 60/5.   Reliability is important in a side that has 4 tailenders and 1 fake all rounder.

When has any India team won any match at 15/4, why is it SKY has to win those matches?Where do you get this genius logic?
