Ik defeated Sharifs  on their home ground Punjab . Punjab's current government of Hamza  will fall next week and with that the Fed government of Shehbaz Sharif . New general elections will be in coming months and the only question is whether IK will secure 2/3 majority or not. What a comeback by a great sportsman .

Hope the turbulent time will be over in 6 months , after the next general elections . IK is now all set to sweep the elections and will form a stable government for next five years . Hope IK has also learnt from his mistakes he committed during his first tenure as PM. I'm g;ad "takht-e-Lahore " has fallen to IK.

I was referring to the world situation - economically its going to get a lot worse before it will get better.  And that will affect Pakistan too, regardless of which politician is warming the 'PM'chair.

One can clearly observe, toppling the govt is one thing, timing the situation is another. If the Sharifs & Bhuttos had waited long enough, the current stringency they have had to impose would have been Imran's doing and they would have had an easier ride to power.

 

In a way it is divine justice since they have a far larger share of economic mismanagement over the decades than the PTI.

Ya you are right. Imran wouldn’t get IMF loan. He would never rolled back the petrol subsidies. Not smart from opposition parties.

I believe this his biggest achievement. He has failed at many levels and I don't think he has the team or competence to manage the gravity of problems Pakistan faces. But he has completely altered the status quo. Maybe forever. 

 

But don't overrule the establishment. They know how to be patient and pull the person down.

Unless you have some secret information , IK criticized army's role in politics throughout his campaign. The wave of public support for IK was too massive , even establishment couldn't do anything . Now they have no choice other than getting along with IK. If he wins the general elections , which he will, he will be the first independent PM of Pakistan.

Aren’t there factions within the army may be he is doing this to pick the next one ? Your army chief tenure is going to end as well so not much from his side as well.

I have another theory. In my opinion, if a politician say xyz is true then it means xyz is false. IN case of Imran, its exactly the same when he said Americans wanted him out (what he was sayoing is Chinese are kicking him out)  because facts on ground is completely opposite. Its Chinese who chucked him out. let me put it in perspective, People can google.

 

a. CPEC started in Nawaz era

b. CPEC stalled in PTI era. Chinese didnt like this jahani azaadi guy asking too many question

c. CPEC restarted in PML era again

 

1. Currency swap happened under Nawaz era. CNY was recognised as Pakistan choose to use it for trade and loans. In Immys era, he had no option but continue with Pak China agreement.

2. Purchase of Chinese jets happened during PTI but IMO, Imran didnt knew or approved unknown back channel behind scene purchase of jets by Pakmil

3. PML era, Pakistan got IMF loand of over 1 billion but what didnt come into media was this. China happily does it and puts few dollars as soon as PML comes to power to save PKR loosing even more.

y. Fate of PKR is directly linked to how much USD, Chinese are pumping in country.  They pump it in when they know corrupt PML are there

x. Another indicator. US has ability to coax Petroleum/gas countries and firsm of world. Pakistan is unable to get Gas despite ready to pay for it. Reason is, China cant coax the  energy firms of Unmah world to do favour to Pakistan.

 

Bottom line is; Americans are not interested, either in Sri Lanka or in Pakistan or Afghanistan. Just like India attempting to save Sl, Chinese are trying to save Pakistan going down SL route, but only and only if Imran is kept out of Power.

IK should be happy winning smaller battles and wait it out while growing stronger & extending reach with his rallies. 

 

If there is an inflation led global recession, he'll be in a bigger soup than the Sharifs & Bhuttos with power in hand.

 

When is the next election due, 2023/4 ?
