Sir Don is captain of captains … a born leader, who is slowly but surely realizing his potential in all cricketing departments  … I saw him as the most viable leadership option a long time ago! … Wishing him all the best on this journey!

Who will say “I am here as a stand-in, don’t enjoy being captain, don’t like additional responsibility, don’t look forward to lead Team India!” Even Chahal will be happy to lead!

Clichéd question and answer.

It's not that simple. Chahal chews his collar as soon as a batsman thrashes a four or six off his bowling. If he is captain, he will tear his shirt off and roll on the floor probably. Pandya has a winner's confidence and also the luck factor which is a by product of this. Big moments are decided on slim margins and that is where confidence helps.

The point is  Chahal will also say the same things as Pandya said. What he does as captain is immaterial.

if Kohli was captain..Pandya would have said I would wait as Kohli is doing a great job so as to not rub kohli on the wrong side.. credit to Sharma for creating such atmosphere where players can freely express their opinion
