Will Dravid get sacked after WT20?

Last year when he took over the senior team coaching, people thought his previous success will transition to main team as well but it's not happening. We have literally wasted last 3 to 4 months in trying different players for T20s but our team is still not settled.

 

It is probably a lot easier to manage emerging players rather than established ones.  There is a natural teacher-student divide, but at the highest level, the coach and players are colleagues. The coach must find ways to motivate players and share ideas with the captain without being preachy.  Whether RSD can do that, I don't know.

 

All of that experimentation was for nought because as soon as KLR and VK came back, those experimental pieces in the top-order - Kishan, Hooda, Samson, RP - were discarded or moved elsewhere in the order.  It is great to experiment but unless you apply what was learned about the players and their best roles, what's the point?

Dravid does not select the team. ICF morons (mostly Bambis) make it look like he has the final say in everything.

Does it matter if he is sacked or if he opts out. Both scenarious are not good.

 

Rahul's success in under19s  was it due to pure talent he had at his disposal or did he have any major coaching to do in those teams. None of them have graduated to senior level nor Rahul has pressed for those players after becoming coach.

Did Shastri select teams, he pulled off one of the greatest wins in history of test cricket by playing all rookie bowling attack. Yet people here were mocking that guy.Is Dravid an upgrade over Shastri??

To me, that proved that he is a master-motivator of youngsters, who gives them the confidence that they belong.  No one here can judge whether he is a great tactician and all that (I suspect he is good at this too).  But that Aus series win with a bunch of tyros - forever grateful to him and Rahane.  One match (Melbourne) = fluke, ok.  Then Sydney, and conquering Brisbane?  Anything but fluke!

 

Added in edit:  Even he was struggling to bring wins with the senior(s) hovering around.  What's to say that - given a young, hungry, talented, but inexperienced team, and freedom to select XI - Dravid can't replicate that success?  We'll never know, I suppose.

So why were people in hurry to get rid of him. He might not have won hardware along with Kohli but they sure did lot thing rights as coach and captain.Why is there so much hate for both of those guys.

Who the hell knows?  People have biases, likes and dislikes, and once they pick a side, they will not let up - even in the face of evidence otherwise. 

 

We are fans, and we speculate.  That's what we do.  Put any of us in that coaching situation and we will shyte bricks.

Dravid has definitely started on a very very poor note as a coach and has reversed all the good work he did as an under 19 coach within a span of 3 or 4 series with the Big boys. 

 

The team selection has been below par, he derailed the newly developed Fast Bowling culture of Indian Cricket, by packing the team with Trundler's. He has failed to recognise an ideal batting position for key Players Rishabh Pant in the White ball cricket. 

 

We are 40 odd days away from the World Cup, and we still don't know what's going to be our Playing XI, who's going to be in the MO.

 

Though I always had allot of respect for Dravid the Cricketer and Dravid the Human Being, but as a Coach, I think he has failed himself so far.

Big 2 months coming up for Dravid....  At least a usual SF appearance & a group stage victory over Pak would save or extend his tenure. 

Another group stage exit will be disastrous & BCCI will take call on him keeping 2023 home WCin mind which will be only a year away.

Dravid should get a cricket operations role than a coaching gig. He seems like a guy who can help out the immediate issues and be a mediator between players and BCCI than a guy who has plans and ideas.

We are trying flexible batting orders. Opening with SKY, Pant, etc. We have backups for middle order positions for LOIs. We are rotating players in bilaterals. Earlier, Kuldeep, Bishnoi, etc., used to warm bench only, bot they get chances here and there. 

 

You guys wanted Siraj and Gill to get their chances. Now they are getting. You guys wanted hit the deck bowlers, he brought Siraj (ODI), and backed Krishna and Avesh from previous teams, now they didn't perform and you have a problem with it. DK was dropped unfairly, we brought him back too.

 

Do guys have nothing to contribute, and write propaganda stuff.
