More about roles. Ferguson was designated death bowler and Rashid also bowled sometimes till 17th over. So Shami could primarily focus on new ball.

 

Here he'd be expected to do job in death. Which has been his problem.

Im confident to go out on a limb here and say that our spinners will do better than our pace bowlers down under. Siraj coming in though, does change things.

 

Good spinners traditionally in the BBL have done ok, so it will be interesting to see how ours performs down under.

BBL batting quality against spin is shyte level, so that's not a great indicator.  The problem for spinners in Australia is lack of grip on the wicket on the roads.  That's why finger spinners - even Murali have such bad records over there compared to wrist spin.  I believe in Ashwin however, he's skilled enough, smart enough to find ways to be effective especially with the larger boundaries.

i agree.you need to middle your shots in australia to clear the boundaries,they dont have high school size grounds there

shami problem has been skillset in t20 more then form or anything. He wasnt coming of lack of practice as he went in with a  half- IPL season behind him that too in same conditions like everyone

Yeah it is, Afghani bowlers have done reasonably well in the BBL down under.

 

Our spinners are at higher level than them too, I expect in the T20 WC one of our spinners will exploit the conditions.

There is a tendency to praise spinners influenced by doctored wickets to aid spin in the subcontinent.
