How big is the difference?

Haven't watched BD recently (did not follow most of Asia Cup too) to comment on its other bowlers?

Stiff competition between both at the moment. Both the teams with their bowling attack would be hoping to upset one of the top 8 teams.

A positive on paper is that Ind's "experienced" batting can do better v BD's bowling than BD's batting v Ind's bowling unless BD batsmen would take advantage of the expected good batting pitches in Aus

Let’s also look at 4th-5th bowlers:

Harshal-Ashwin/Chahal v X-Y

Ind’s 4th-5th are like a piranha in favourable Asian conditions but toothless outside. They can give away 40-50 runs each w/o batting an eye. BD’s X-Y can probably won’t do too much worse (or at least one of them is likely to be an AR)

Bangladesh has Ebadot Hossain who is a hit the deck quick bowler who bowls with a lot of heart.

Taskin is similar too.

If we face them on a bouncy pitch then ......

... Sharma and Kohli will smash them to oblivion.

our batsman have no issue against pace n bounce , surely they can loose wkts while attacking but their game has no basic issues

Guys like madhushanka, theekshana, hasaranga are more scary for our batsman

Adelaide I think

However, the larger point is in the similarity of the two attacks even when these teams play other teams too. :phew:

Good to know about Hossain. I think I may remember him unless he debuted this yr. BD’s “pace” attack could have more teeth

Bangladesh bowling is not a problem, however if our batsmen have even a mediocre day, they have a couple of competent batsmen to chase down our score given our toothless attack.

There is always a 20% chance we can lose against Bangladesh and in this context of a world tournament  20% is also a big deal.

BD plays Ind and Pak at Adelaide. With its short side boundaries, you never know which batsman can take the game away.

Will not be surprised if BD knocks out one of Ind or Pak.

for pimply pace-obsessed folks who are unable to grasp the basics of execution, bowling to your field, control over line and length, not to mention Swing, not much I guess.

i think Mahamadullah and Mushfiqur have retired. Only Shakib is there so I don’t see other new Bangla batsmen handle Pakistani  145+ pace bowlers in Australia.

If our batsmen fail to get 150+ or a mediocre score on a flat pitch, I will back them to chase against our trundlers.

I feel we can chase anything against Bangla because we have champions of cashing in against weak bowling.

Watched BD for a relatively long period in its last game against Pak in NZ. BD can fit in 2 left armer medium pacers in their 11 in Soriful & Mustafizur (Fizz did not play so hope he is being rested). In the game, Sarker was the 6th bowler, who did relatively well in bowling an over at the death.

The weakest link appeared to be Saifudin, who looked clueless much like many Indian bowlers. Maybe he was having a bad day (dropped a catch too) or is expected to be replaced by Fizz.

Sakib was the lone spinner in the game so can't comment much on the spin attack. Bowled decently till the left hander Nawaz got a few hits off him (Pak-Ind batsmen would not have too much difficulty versus such bowlers).

Bangladesh: Shakib Al Hasan, Sabbir Rahman, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Afif Hossain, Mossadek Hossain, Litton Das, Yasir Ali, Nurul Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, Saifuddin, Taskin Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain, Hasan Mahmud, Najmul Hossain, Nasum Ahmed. Standby Players: Shoriful Islam, Shak Mahedi Hasan, Rishad Hossain, Soumya Sarkar.

Some of the players who played the game are in reserves. If Saifuddin is in bad form, bring Shoriful in the WC squad. Maybe Soumya too as BD lower middle order could not get hits in against Pak. Unless they had a bad game, Sarlar could be more useful.
