QuarantineTormentino Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 So far Dravid and Rohit have been horrible in terms of team selection and player backing (albeit with a lot of help from the selectors) so far we’ve seen: Dhawan unfairly being persisted with over Gill/Shaw KL/Rohit being unfairly persisted with in T20is over Shaw Chahal being unfairly persisted with over Bishnoi DK being unfairly persisted with over Pant/Kishan/Samson Pujara being unfairly persisted with over Sarfaraz notice a pattern? I’m sure if Dravid were coach we would have seen Saha still playing for India today with Pant wasting his talent away on the bench SRT100 and express bowling 1 1

In a good positive team environment, he should have been clear heir apparent to Dhoni. Yes I agree with the Saha comment. Wasnt Pant only included in Australia because Saha got injured? SRT100 Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 I mean to be publicly ridiculed about his weight, is disgraceful. Meanwhile Hitman is pregnant and carrying his unborn child in his belly in every T20 match. express bowling 1
Chakdephatte Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 (edited) Your post is far from reality- • Gill is ahead as an opener. He only played under this management actually. Was brought back after long. • Rohit is as powerful as anybody. Dropping him is unrealistic. • Chahal over Bishnoi was s 50/50. In hindsight it looks easy. • Both Pant and DK failed. Samson shoud have got more chances. • Sarfaraz is wronged. But Pujara is coming after a big county season. And don't forget he was dropped once. Edited November 3, 2022 by Chakdephatte
vvvslaxman Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 (edited) Ravi or Rahul we find players accidentally more than with any planning. Sundar, Thakur, Arshdeep were all accidental discoveries because some players were injured. Axar patel himself found his spot only after Ravi jadeja got injured. Injuries are our savior. We found out Siraj as well, courtesy of injuries...else he would have played an odd T20 here and there, then dropped coz of poor performance. express bowling 1
nevada Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 A fully discovered and established Pant has been benched by this TM for a couple of no-show seniors. Do you think they would have "discovered" him? This seniority disease is too deep rooted and not limited to the Kohli regime as I had originally thought. At this rate when they get rid of Karthik, they might ask Dhoni to come out of retirement. Dravid probably wants Nayan Mongia, only a 15 year age gap. express bowling 1
rkt.india Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 Pant needs to rework on his game. He is getting carried away after his early test success.

Do you think he can do that by sitting on bench ? Moreso, he isn't doing very badly. Avg 25, S/R 136 this year when half of the time he doesn't even know what position he will get to bat. To take his game to next level he should be given game time and person playing ahead of him DK is bang average as he has been his whole career. Edited November 3, 2022 by Number nevada 1
prudent_kreeda Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 Not fair to put muck on Dravid for each & every thing though i do not like Pant being on bench in this WC because DK looks even poor right now . Not sure how much dravid's role in that . It was Dravid who had given a very positive report to selectors in 2018 itself when playing for A team in England to be included in Test team. Please find what Chairman of selectors of that time (Andhra guy) had mentioned re: selection of Pant to test team and inputs from Dravid A coach at that time. I have no doubt even Gill will get full backing from Dravid & Rohit as well as even Shaw (if he improves fitness & fielding) . It is shameful to see Shaw & Sarfraz in SMAT even when they are very near to selection. The blame needs to be on those players too. nevada, Lord and Chakdephatte 1 2
