Chahar is likely to be in the ODI team. He can swing it both ways and can bat.

If you give some training to siraj then he can Tonk some big ones.  I like how javagal srinath was doing in past.  He worked out well initially but later he failed to do hitting.

Siraj has been India's best odi bowler off late, shami was terrific in the eng series, chahar will be cannon fodder during the death overs and if no swing around he will be lined, we need wicket takers not run stoppers.

Agree, but our pacers are incompetent with bat.
Siraj just swings the bat madly, Shami will keep on having brainfarts, Prasidh is lolworthy while Kuldeep, Tyagi, Mohsin are unknown entities with bat. Only Umesh is the one who really can make 15-20 runs if needed.
Hence, we need to include one of Chahar/Shardul at no 8 or have to trust Hangargekar/Nagarkoti to improve in future.

You don't need seamer at 8 if you have spin alrounder.

Sundar at 8 can work. He will need to work on his hitting aspect.

3 specialist seamers are required every where these days with two new balls.

As opening bowlers, we need pacers who can move the ball at pace.

 

Medium paced swing bowlers look awful if there is no movement on offer and look bad in the middle phase too. 

 

The candidates are Siraj, Mohsin and Prasidh.

Shami should be out of our LOI set up. He is too old to sustain an intense spell in this format. He should just stick to Tests. I know he is one of the best reverse swing bowler besides Umesh. But he looks worn out.

Sundar can be a good No.8.  He can't hit big enough for a 6 or 7 but ok for 8.

 

It would be great if we can find a wrist spinner who can bat at 7.

 

Need 3 proper quicks. Medium pacers are too one dimensional.
