I will tell you why its even more stupid then you think.

When you groom the next future captain, its important he is a part of a winning system as well, India for all the craziness of the inclusions of the uncles have been winning despite of them. There was zero risk in having Pant as the vice captain here, especially more so when he has other senior players on the field and off the field to consult with.

 

Pujara as VC is just such an illogically way to go about preparing the future of the team.

I have seen very few Bollywood movies in my life, funnily enough KL,Pujara and Dravid, remind me of the movie Three Idiots.
