Pujara named VC for first Bangladesh Test

What the hell is going on? A guy who wasn't even part of the first XI a couple of series ago is now VC instead of the team's no 1 batsmen in Tests? This team management is really *in with India's present and future

Wasn't Rishabh Pant the vice captain? Why make over the hill player vc??

I guess Gujara failed in BD A game too....  Lu*d TM & BCCI prefers seniors & add to that VC so he is undroppable. 

KS Bharat & Easwaran are definite upgrades over him who are doing consistently well at A level.

LMAO..Pant actually is the best Indian batsman since Kohli in this team and they have given the captaincy to Rohit, Rahul and now put Pujara as vice captain.

 

Actually it is LOIs where you shouldn't make Pant as captain or vice captain. In Tests, you definitely can give him that captaincy or vice captaincy opportunity.

Had we won that one off game back in 2015 vs Bangers would've been start of the world record - just fell short of one series to win 9(8?) in row till 2017 end vs SL. Life's come a full circle huh, for Brat & co this series will pave the way for our cricket in the next 10 years! Like I said back in 2018 with the Eng tour - Kohli's legacy will be defined by how he leaves the team, for better or for worse he can be our Clive Lloyd or Dhongi part deux

Pujara was dropped after SA tour, came back and is now vice captain of test team. 

 

Pant, an integral member of test team and probably a better test batsman than Rohit is not considered yet.

Cringeworthy to see ROhit and Rahul has captains.  Rohit hardly achieved anything in tests to be our captain. With myrida of fitness issues, he keeps missing test series. Pujara is another one.    Jaiswal, Sarfraz should already be playing for India

Not commenting on whether Pant should or should not be the captain but it is not about the best player becoming the captain but the player with best leadership qualities, which could be for a variety of reasons, becoming the captain. The captain should be good enough to make it to the 11.
