Why are Indians desperate for 'Bazball' to fail?

For those that are praying for it to fail regularly   its a mix of expectant schadenfreude and an aversion towards this yet novel approach. To that crowd I pose this query, who would have watched the Pak vs Eng games played on patta or turning pitches which were tailored for draws(worst case) or wins(best case) for the home side. If not for Bazball these games would have been tuk tuk academy snore-fests.

Will Bazball get shown up on occasion??  definitely will against deserving opposition not against run of the mill chest thumpers (who may be from any side).

Given its current success rate, the approach is going to be around for a while.

My only concern (and maybe its an imaginary one) is that the Boycotts, Athertons & Cooks aren't forced to convert or dropped based on their natural game. They bring value to the team in tests.

Runs matter at the end of the day and Brook emerges as a top pick with additional points for his SR besides the consistency.

Indians wants to play bhand ball

True, if this mode was a product of our own, things would have been markedly different. The same folk who chew into Bazball would be singing praises of Bhandball, Bhangraball or BisiBeleBhath ball call it what you may. It would be branded earth shaking.

the success has only been on pattas. Lets wait for Ashes in Aus or India tour

Ashes will be entertaining if England stick to Bazball and don't mentally break against the Aussies like they usually do

yes, they need to give it back to ozzies without flinching. but stokes can do that

Eventually when you're out of form no amount of Bassball, Moon ball, Rafa ball or Djoker ball can work! This approach will fail eventually, sooner rather than later - the only question then is will Eng try to counter the slide by having the ability to bowl oppositions out or not? Great teams have always had a good/great batting & excellent bowling attacks - Eng do not have that & with Clouderson/Broad retiring in the next year or two it'll only grow weaker

ollie > broad [on current form]

Jofra will return, and can replace andie overseas [in home conditions, any trundle swing bowler will be fine]

Archer, if he's the mainstay of LO sides, will not play tests regularly. He simply won't last, also we have yet to see what he'll do post injury. I'll hold on to that thought for now, as for Robinson again we only saw him against the hapless neighbors. Need to see him in tougher conditions especially away from home.

what exactly did barbie (broad) do overseas? very little in test career of 150 tests. ollie is better than or equal to broad.

andie will admittedly be harder to replace, but they will manage somehow at home.

But why do Indians care if this brand of cricket fails or succeeds? How are we in anyway stakeholders?

And Bazball is not about one or two players playing quickly. The entire batting unit has to play this way and the entire bowling unit has to bowl with an aggressive mindset.

Indians don't like England doing well in anything.... for colonial reasons.

If the Windies was doing Bazball - and they kind of did at a time with Richards, Greenidge and company batting with the dreaded four prong pace attack bowling - Indians would be all praise.

Indians just have sour grapes vis-a-vis England (for good reasons admittedly). there was lot of vitriol directed toward Eng in 2012 olympics (where they did well) and toward Eng footer team (which has improved under southgate)

Couldn't win at home despite Lyon missing 4 straight games. Why are Poms celebrating so much?

More like Aussie bowlers looked completely toothless for the first time in the last 2 tests. The same bowling attack which was unplayable in Aus.

Basically the way Aussie bowlers surrendered without giving a fight makes them hopeful of winning the next Ashes in Australia

Ghanta hopeful...

They got favourable conditions for 90% of this series. Got to bat under clear skies mostly and were gifted with cloudy weather from time to time when they were bowling. And still they could barely draw it...

In Australia, except Wood (who's made of glass himself) , everyone else will get carted to all corners. Bazball will atleast give an opportunity to the Aussies to pick 20 wickets but the Oz batters will not return that favour. They'll grind these trundlers into the ground.

Besides, Australia can just prepare greentops like they did against South Africa and romp home.
