zen Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 The World Cup is in June (or Nov) 2024 iirc, therefore, the players will go through 2 IPLs and a bunch of T20Is. Players like Bumrah, Siraj, etc. will be available too barring injuries. The TM will figure out the optimal combination. No point in wasting sleep over 11s. Time to wait, watch, and enjoy the ride!!

" / " are injury backups Early days for Hooda, but Im not really a fan of his. All the rest I agree with, importantly youve listed replacements for every position, because with Indian Cricket, injuries are part and parcel of happening. The kind of batting lineup we have means we can go hard from ball 1. The long batting lineup (by Indian standards) means we can take early risks. express bowling 1
Majestic Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 I have a better lineup than OP. 1. SKY 2. SKY 3. SKY 4. SKY 5. SKY 6-11. Bowlers Thoughts?

Reminds me of ODI cricket. SRT positions 1 to 5. If SRT could keep, I would ask him to do that while he was bowling lol. SRT could have been also used as one of the bowlers. One of the few modern Indian batsmen that could bowl a bit and take wickets. Got a Man of the Match award solely for his bowling vs Australia.

( who is actually the backup ) Im limited because I dont follow domestic at all, however I think the IPL this year may unearth a player or two contention, it always seems to be the case each season. I just personally dont rate Hooda as a batsman and given he never bowls for India, I dont see his purpose really in the team. I like Tripahti a lot but he needs to remove the Bollywood theatrics on display, obviously learnt this from Kohli. I hated his dismissal last night, he was playing great big and expansive shots, then plays a soft "arrogant" "cute" shot that led to his dismissal. Why play a stupid shot like that, when you can go big and aerial? With Pandya in the team as the 6th bowling option, we can always play another specialist batsmen in the place of Hooda if Washington is injured as he is first choice. express bowling 1
JaFanatic Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 Since the 2024 T20 World Cup is going to take place in West Indies I personally would like to see this lineup going forward with some progressive changes based on the form and performances of players in T20s(both internationals & domestics) and ODIs from now on. Kishan Tripathi Shreyas(VC) SKY Tilak Varma Hooda Hardik(C) Axar Tewatia Bumrah Umran. Currently I couldn't think of a better captain then Pandya to lead our T20I side. Shreyas has shown glimpse of potential as captain in the IPL and is one of the best batsman of spin in the country with loads of experience batting at 3 in domestics hence I went with him ahead of some other potential names. Tilak Varma is one of the very few quick scoring batsman in the country! Him being a middle order batsman and a part time offie is too good an option at no.5 to ignore for me. Tewatia is probably as good a leggie as any in the country in t20s from what I have seen. With his explosive batting down the order he adds quite a value to our XI. Umran is well Umran! Guy adds value to the bowling on any surface through his sheer pace. We bat deep and we have 5 spin options with Shreyas bowling both offie and leggie as part timer and Tripathi as the fourth pacer if need be.

JaFanatic Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 Or we may as well go in Shaw opening with Kishan Tripathi coming at no.3 and Sundar a better offie coming in place of Hooda. Shreyas will have tonsit out with Hooda. This XI would be like. Kishan Shaw Tripathi SKY Tilak Varma Hardik Axar Sundar Tewatia Bumrah Umran
QuarantineTormentino Posted January 8, 2023 Author Posted January 8, 2023 Lol what are you guys talking about? Hooda has a century and a 4-fer in t20is, the only other player to do that is Shane Watson. Hooda is actually very useful if he’s given a chance to bowl and if he bats at number 4 JaFanatic and Nash 2

A batsman who can bowl part time like yuvi or sehwag.
