This test will be a DRAW.  No chance of play happening today and tomorrow.  Implies Aus would retain the ashes.  (Regardless of the outcome of 5th test)

one possible reason is Duke vs Kookaburra. Duke swings for 50 60 overs. Kookaburra once loses the seam will pretty much do nothing. You just have to rely on pace and bounce. No movement will be on offer. Hit the deck bowlers will have advantage.

A reminder of how much toss impacts cricket.. if Australia loses the toss and (typically) bowls first, Smith's avg drops by 30 points!! He made more runs in first innings than other three innings combined!

 

Is this the biggest disparity ever between first and second innings?

Why people keep harping on England is playing at home.So what, these are flat conditions and in these conditions traditionally their trundlers should struggle but they are getting people out.

this series is going similar to our win over in Australia.we started attacking them with the bat after the Adelaide Test and they had no answer,they wilt when the team takes it to them.

Why is it you keep bringing India into picture.  No one is devaluing Indian home dominance.England doing at home is different from India doing at home.

 

Most teams have fast bowlers so winning in England should be possible for any team with good fast bowlers.Aussies certainly have those fast bowlers but they have been dominated in this test match which we have not seen from any team.

Australia too need someone wild as Wood,

It's time they had one after Tait,Lee or even Johnson to push batsmen even on relatively flat decks

Australian bowling isn't that good ,it's quite overrated

Starc blows hot and cold in red ball,only Cummins and Hazalwood are consistent that is not enough for a long series as they too are growing old,this is what happening to them

England have been aggressive and fantastic but Australia aren't carrying some lethal attack

Australia may retain the trophy despite not exactly playing great cricket. Australian bowling failed massively. Almost all the wickets they got in this series were gifts from England.  But history won't tell that. At worst Australia will go home 2-2. That will be that.

Josh is back from injury. This is basically a 1.5 bowler attack.

Boult's bowling is designed to thrive in English conditions. He was thrashed black and blue by bairstow and co.  Only tall bowlers have been somewhat effective here. Jamieson, Marco Jansen. Both super tall. This cameron green is masquerading as an all rounder. He has no real skills or guile to be a good fast bowler. CDG is better than him despite lower speed.

Ishant is tall too. One of the bowler who has done well here.  Our midget fast bowlers hardly had any success here apart from taking a wicket here and there.
