Lord
With Aus its matter of Starc,Warner, Marsh,Zampa finding their straps which can happen v lower ranked teams. However they messed up in squad selection by not going for guys like Ellis, David,Wade. Even spinners like Kuhnemann should have been considered once Agar was injured. Link to comment

Came as replacement of Head. Now playing in first XI. First copy of Smith. Link to comment

They just have 4 batsmen and no spinners . Edited October 14, 2023 by putrevus Link to comment

ravishingravi
Honestly I am happy with Indian team make up and performance. If they reach SF in a dominant way, I cannot complain. After that, it's two matches and on the day and any of the teams can win. So far Dravid and Rohit have done a great job in setting up the team. cricspirit 1 Link to comment

Smith himself not great by any means in odis.Labu is awful so Aussies have no middle order who can take the game away from other teams. Warner is not the same force and Marsh is a complete hit and miss. Plus they have only one spinner. Aussies have lot of issues. Edited October 15, 2023 by putrevus Link to comment
javier26
Most predictions made in this thread are likely to be wrong as majority have chosen both England and Australia among the list of Semi Finalists and as things stand, only one of them is likely to qualify for the Semis , if at all. Australia is a weaker one day unit than South Africa. No question about it. There was never any question about Australia making semis. No overhang about past results. Link to comment

Every team has had their fair share of luck in this tournament except India who have been flawless so far. Afghanistan have played superb cricket and beating them was not easy unlike the Saffers who lost to an even weaker NED. The argument was that Aussies were not among the Top 4 sides. They clearly were Link to comment

Heck even Sri Lanka were 130/0 against them that too at a chasing nightmare of a venue in Lucknow but collapsed to 220 out of nowhere. Even in the Semi, had Saffer fielders held onto atleast half of those 5/6 dropped chances the story would have been different. Hope their luck has run out already.. Link to comment
Number
Looks like, not a single soul on this planet thought Eng will not make semis. It played out a bit like France in 2002 football WC who were defending champs and tagged as favorites but crashed out in group stage losing to Senegal. Link to comment
