rangeelaraja
4 big matches remain : Eng, NZ, RSA, Pak. I think we might just come up short against Eng and RSA this time. It would be good for the bank players to get the law of averages out of the way and save some runs for the 2 knockouts. Interestingly even in 2011, when the team was red hot and the WC format was differerent- we did not win 2 games in the league stage - tied against Eng and lost to RSA. * Fingers crossed * Edited October 8, 2023 by rangeelaraja raki05 1 Link to comment
Nikhil_cric
NZ. Why the hell would anyone schedule a match at Dharamshala against them? Adamant 1 Link to comment
ravishingravi
It would be good to lose or two before the next round. Link to comment
mani sha
England and New Zealand - we will loose one of these . Likely england . gill needs to get fit though . Game time v important prior to the semis . personally I hope we win all so that we are guranteed a semi spot and bumrah , siraj and kuldeep get a break . It’s a long World Cup and keeping our bowlers injury free is v v important raki05 1 Link to comment

He may be drafted against one of the lesser teams after the Pak game, to give him alot of game time and prime him up for the business end of the tournament. Link to comment
Majestic
England and New Zealand probably. As for South Africa, let's see if this side has something special which the previous ones didn't had. Link to comment
LehraDo
Barring Netherlands, any team can beat any opposition this WC. Had it been WI instead of Netherlands, it would have been a much better WC raki05 and nitinbwj 2 Link to comment

SA can go either way; if pitch has something for bowlers, we will win. as for NZ, I see us losing comfortably. and Pak - we will find a way to choke vs them Link to comment

kubrickian
I feel all 3 games against NZ, Eng, SA chances are 50 50. Most of NZ and SA players have experience in Indian conditions because of IPL. England is a good side because they bat deep. The game against NZ especially could be a tricky one as its in Dharamsala and if we bat under lights, it could swing and Southee, Henry and Boult could be a handful. They also have wood over us in World Cup tournaments. Vijy 1 Link to comment

R!TTER
And if you remember that Dharamshala test match where we won against stronger opposition, Oz in 2017, that was on the back of spinners as well. There's no ground in India where NZ bowlers could decisively out bowl us, they just don't have the quality IMO but Oz or SA does, Pak if they're in great rhythm. Link to comment
