They have never belonged to Argentina, the residents are of British descent and want nothing to do with Argentina and who can blame them. It's a bit like how the Pakistani leaders always use Kashmir as a distraction when things are going bad for them.

I have spoken to few of them. This is just Argentinians throwing kitchen sink at the problem. Inflation is 140%. 40% of population is below poverty. It's an insane meltdown over three decades.
