It's only really useful on those minefield seaming pitches in SA which don't improve on days 2/3/4/5 but you're not going to get them in Oz or Eng. Perth's the only one I know which if it starts bad is unlikely to get better as the game progresses, like the 2018 test, all other venues will get better to bat later on even if only marginally. The issue is his bowling has gone down - I hope we don't fall for the "Axar" trap again in Oz, Kuldeep should always start ahead of Axar/Thakur as a bowler & even Jadeja if we just want to pick a single spinner! Vijy Posted March 13 Share Posted March 13 karun nair despite being faded still demonstrated his ability to play spin on day 4. and wadkar showed why he is one of the best domestic batter-keepers: solid player, who may not be int'l level, but is needed to keep ranjis, FCs, at high standard. big plus on day 4 was musheer getting to show off his bowling skills in an extended spell.
