I think Rohit, Kohli and Pant suits batting in top 3, i.e., the first 6 overs as powerplay allows them to play freely. Pant might struggle if we send him at #4 or 5 again like it happened in past with him in this format. He like to chance his arms and hit the ball over the circles very often vs pacers so should bat in top 3.

 

Kohli is also much better in top 3 than below because then he would have to deal with spin and outside powerplay overs. It is not that these guys can't score outside powerplay but it is easier for them to settle themselves in powerplays.

IMO Jaiswal should open with Rohit with Kohli coming in at 3. Kohli's natural game is built to be a no. 3 batsman and not go after the bowling in PP, whereas Jaiswal can go after the bowling naturally. Essentially, we're gifting a freebie to the opponents in the form of Kohli by asking him to play the way he isn't built to do. Pant bats at 4 for Delhi in IPL and has had plenty of success. On WI pitches, Pant at 4 wouldn't be a bad option. My team...

Good thread.  Left-handedness is vital as the cricket format gets shorter.  Both in the batting and the bowling. 

 

You need a good mix in the lineup so that they don't get tied down by any one particular type of bowling. 

 

And you need bowlers coming from different release points so that batters don't get used to a single release point.

 

It's how you make a batting lineup/bowling attack greater than the sum of it's parts.

Who said anything about rohit in wc. Chokli just stats padded … SF was won due to maverick performance of sharma, gill and Iyer…. Chokli stats padded in his most of the innings. Innings in which the hisgh strike rate batter failed we lost. Chokli and Kela shat in final with their slow selfish batting. As soon as Iyer, Gill and Rohit dint came off we lost.
