More lefties please

IN the last 20 or 30 years lefties have played a crucial role with bat or ball in some key games. ICC games.  Gambhir, Yuvraj, Shikar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, Jadeja, Rishabh Pant new entrant  Jaiswal.  Seemingly it solves a lot of problem for us. Rinku singh has joined too.  Kuldeep, Jaddu with ball. There is something about lefties. I don't think there are not very many bowlers who bowl expertly to left handers compared to right handers.  It gives a massive advantage to them atleast from Indian perspective.

BTW Dube is the most intriguing player for me. Most of us here on ICF crave for pace all rounders, and he has the statistics to claim as being one. His first class cricket record is mind-boggling. But then his international performance isn't quite there. I really pray that he at least becomes a permanent fixture in Indian  T20 side and bowl 2-3 overs regularly.

Lefties are a must. We had Gambhir delivering for us twice. Then Shikar was a great ICC tournament player. THen we had Raina, Yuvraj even Ganguly did well in CT final. 

Now we have Pant even though he is not suitable for this format did his bit.  Look how damaging warner and Head against England. Even from England washed up Moeen played some shots.  High time we try to load the side with efficient left handers. Dube seems to be a mental midget with limited technique. His role was to hit every ball. But when he tries to play this anchor role he looks like a tailender. Jadeja is another leftie we should ignore.  Otherwise guys like Jaiswal, Rinku singh, Venkatesh Iyer should be backed. Venky Iyer incidentally played a few crucial knocks for KKR.   Almost all our right handers look clueless.

If we are serious about our chances, Rinku must come in. But I don't think Rohit, Dravid or Jay shah anyone actually cares about India's chances.

Such a shame that even IPL teams are way more serious than Indian national cricket team.

It is simple. Most bowlers in the world don't know how to bowl to lefties in comparison. Many bowlers lose their radar. Look at how Amir bowled to left hander from USA in the super over. Bowled wide after wide.  Because most of the batsmen are right handers. That is an instant advantage for you.

Based on what? Has domestic performances - averages 55 in FC and 49 in List A, has  performed in IPL, took to intl cricket (T20Is) like duck to water. He has played 15 T20Is and he averages a stunning 89 with a SR of 176! Basically, he has performed at every level from domestic to IPL to intl. If such a player is fraud, what is the whole Indian squad which don't even come close to Rinku's performances?
