India should start resting senior players for home tests?

I think absence of kohli and injury of KL is blessing in disguise for India...

 

We were able to give opportunities to young blood and also could see some positives

Patidar should be no where near Indian team

Sarfaraz can be a good investment in long run

Jurel is gold player and could be a future Indian captain

Jadeja will falter when additional responsibility is given to him as batsmen

Not just rest, we must phase them out, starting with Ashwin by the end of the year...he turns 38 in September!!!! Also Shami who is clearly older than official records.

If rumors are true, then he might be contest election under BJP's ticket from Amroha.

If he wins the election, then consider him retired...coz I don't recall any active cricketer in the history who managed politics & sports together.

Ashwin and Jadeja are beasts at home and only one plays overseas.

 

Shami when fully fit showed in World Cup what he is capable of.

 

Who else is worth resting? Rahul? Half of the times he is injured anyways.

Isn't Manoj Tiwary an MLA or MP? Of course, he is a regional cricketer and not as high profile as an international one. Also, the former BD captain Mashrafe was also some kind of elected official while playing cricket.

Anyways, all this is moot because given the seriousness of Shami's injury and his age, he may never come back to cricket.

Most senior players are already out of action for a long time.  And hence not playing this test series.   Kohli Shami &  KL.   Don't think they need more rest.

Kohli should no longer be undroppable ...
