We are all hypocrites at some level. My own cousins in the UK were brought up way more conservatively than I ever was and I grew up thinking they were having the time of their lives .

 

Things like economy and politics apart , it is very important to raise your children in the normative majority culture .

 

If you don't, there's a good chance that your kids will be screwed up forever.

Left and right is just western media discourse. 

 

Both BJP and Congress and every other party in India is socialist. 

 

Both the Dems and Republicans are about American exceptionalism. 

 

Most educated well-off NRIs support basic socialism and support national exceptionalism. Which is why most of them including myself supported Obama-era Democrats and BJP.

 

Now that the Dems have gone further towards wokeness (it is not going further left, it is just embracing DEI/"progressives"), they have started losing NRI support. We support equal opportunity, not equal outcome which is what basic socialism provides. 

 

This is not complicated despite media trying to paint parties as good (left) or bad (right).

I don't know how good a comparison that is, but it is beside the point I was trying to make (and didn't do it well), which is:

 

Many feel that the evangelical wing is at the fringes of the GOP. But DJT's direct Bible-selling antics and the insinuation that being a believer is being a patriot are all warning signs that it is not the case. It should give pause to non-Christians who feel that a DJT presidency might benefit them.

 

Secondly, it is amusing to see him tout the Bible as his favorite book. I doubt if he got past the prelude. He is as Christian as I am Sachin Tendulkar.

Go work for a boss in India and tell me what beta male behavior is. In my early days in India when I worked in my first job, the boss was such a A-hole that he made fully pregnant women stand and talk to him in his room to show his superiority for hours.

 

Or the fact that the same boss would yell at your face when even the slightest mistake was made and made everything about firing you.
