MAYANK YADAV .... EXPRESS and bouncy Indian pacer who is accurate too

Saw some twitter handles stating that Mayank has the most number of 155+ deliveries in IPL history now after just two matches followed by Umran and Nortje in 26 & 42 matches respectively. Can anyone confirm this? Mayank has bowled 4 deliveries and Umran has 3.

It is true, even in multiple channels also this point was discussed.

It just took 48 deliveries for Mayank to break that. Tbh...it's evident how easily this bowling is clocking 150's, even Umran wasn't this consistent in touching 150 during 2022 IPL.

Umran is more like a "typical" express pacer. One who can bowl in low 150s when in good rhythm. But Mayank is something else (freakish): it feels like he can bowl 150+ on most days when not injured - he is truly in shoaib and tait category IMO, even higher than Lee, starc, thommo, etc.

Agree, Umran generates the pace courtesy of his sprint runup. That's his USP, and he has to push himself again and again to generate pace.

 

If he is not in rhythm or not running quick, he won't even touch 140's. I think last year he was bowling in late 130's as well when his runup was not proper.

Tyagi is the one who is mad on bowling fast, he may probably stretch himself even more to clock 161 if he keep getting backed.

 

Maybe on a hypothetical day if we decide to play Umran, Mayank & Tyagi together. All 3 might try to outbowl each other and try to clock 160+kph.

This day should come soon,most probably in T20 World cup.

I wasn't keen on IPL in the last few seasons. But had  a glimpse of Mayank in the last match. It was a treat to watch. Fantastic bowling. Guess, I will follow LSG matches hereafter, something I never thought I would be doing. Or may be I will keep it only to LSG Bowling, as Rahul and DDP is there at the batting.

Hopefully KKR plays Sakib in Vizag today... He may not be express but he is very accurate at good pace and KKR camp is very impressed with his skill set.

Sakib gets some balls to kick.up from back of a length.  Can be a very handy attribute.

He did that in Smat as well the match he played got awkward bounce, KKR media team (those who are looking after their YT channel) is hyping him up too.

 

Presumably he is v.fast and bowl tight over at the end. Not sure if he is 145+ kmph but have to be 140 + kmph with all the hype being created around by KKR

Mayank is more impressive than Umran for his accuracy and the venom in his short balls.

 

Floaty full length 152 kph balls will be smashed out of the park by good international batsmen.

That's a handy attribute...  Prasidh never had that and his fuller length became floaty... 

Kuldeep Sen also had same kick in his bowling style... But he was unlucky in so many ways.

If he somehow makes it...he will collectively motivate everyone to bowl as slowest as humanely possible.

 

Already Bhuvi master has motivated Mavi to step down from bowling quick to actually trundle.

I have seen Sakib clock 142-143 two years back when he was 17 though lacked control at that time. Currently he looks quicker.
