Austin 3:!6
So based on the performance of IPL, who should be India's keeper in the upcoming T20 WC? Is it too early to bring back Pant in international set up? Kishan is the most logical choice Or will Dravid trust Rahul again? Link to comment
Frustrated
Pant has always been trash in T20. 66 intl T20 matches is a huge sample size. Jitesh, Kishan and Jurel are not reliable either. Kela is a mental midget cum panauti/choker. I would go with Samson and make him bat no at 4 or 5. He is a decent top order batter (but doesn't hv a good record while batting in lower order). putrevus
All things are pointing to KL rahul becoming keeper again. Frustrated and AKane 1 1 Link to comment
Ultimate_Game
I would like Jitesh to be picked. Enough of KL Rahul. We want a keeper who can come in at 6 and hit the ball around. We already have batsmen who can maximize the powerplay in Jaiswal and Abhishek - hope they get picked Link to comment
AKane
The peerless KL. The batting lineup should always look like this Rohit Sharma (c) KL Rahul (vc) Virat Kohli ...... Frustrated and Austin 3:!6 2 Link to comment
bowl_out
There are some 6 options - suggest to include all of them in the poll. Samson and Jitesh are my picks. Consideration set: Jitesh Jurel Pant Samson KL Kishan Ultimate_Game 1 Link to comment
kosingh
Samson should be, but for whatever reason he isn't see as worthy. Link to comment
Gollum
With bowling attack of Siraj, Mukesh, Unadkat, Chahal do we even need a keeper in the XI? Or anyone standing in that position? nevada 1 Link to comment
vvvslaxman
Pant needs to be eased into national side. Link to comment

If you want a keeper who can bat at 5,6 or 7. Jitesh & Jurel are logical choice. If you need someone to bat in top 4...KL, Pant, Kishan, Samson are the options. At no way, we should pickup a Samson, Pant, Kishan or KL and later ask him to bat at no 5,6. They will fail most of the time as none of them are fit in that spot. KL & Samson need time..while Kishan & Pant Suck at strike rotation. Jitesh has weakness against back of length but he can absolutely murder the spinner and on the front foot vs pace. Jurel can play unorthodox shots against pace and use the dimensions. Both can go from ball one. Link to comment

What has Jurel done in t20s. His SR is 139. That is just not good enough IMO.He is not a power hitter either. All these things are adding up for KL rahul becoming WK.Rinku Singh if he was Wk would have been perfect match. Edited April 9 by putrevus nevada 1 Link to comment

Samson will have the exact same issue as Pant. Our stat padding culture will never allow middle and lower order to flourish, how many balls did pant even face in those 66 matches? Link to comment
New guy
Unfortunately it looks like it's gonna be Pant https://m.cricbuzz.com/cricket-news/130115/rishabh-pant-marching-ahead-in-selection-race Link to comment

He needs to be eased into the national side and start with some low profile games and prepare himself for the Aus Test series New guy 1 Link to comment
bowl_out
IMO the two keepers should be thought of as: 1. Back up player in the top 3 + keeper option if required -> one of Kishan/Samson/KL 2. Bat at 5-7 + be the keeper -> one of Pant/Jitesh/Jurel Selectors might pick KL and Pant. My choice would be Samson and Jitesh. Link to comment
putrevus
If Pant is the keeper and he is batting in middle order then he is useless. Dravid had Pant in the team and KL Rahul was unable to put bat on ball in most matches still our great coach kept opening with that bozo. Just to break up all righties Pant should have promoted to take care of spinners. But Dravid and strategy don't go hand in hand. New guy 1 Link to comment
Chaos
Jitesh for sure. Even edges he will say didnt hear anything and dangle his head. Link to comment
