Some players you can understand why they get backed. They might be performers going through a lean patch or a young exciting talent. 
 

some born out of necessity like lack of fast bowlers, spinners, allrounders, power hitters etc.

 

However I just don’t get it. What’s the deal about this talent? Why is he getting so much backing?

Cribuzz: Cousin brother of Punjab Ranji cricketer, Anmolpreet Singh, Prabhsimran Singh is an explosive wicket-keeper batsman and started playing serious cricket at a tender age of 8. A prolific run getter in white ball cricket domestic cricket, Prabhsimran has been round the block for a while now in the IPL as well, but is yet to really make a mark.

I am going to bat for Prabhsimran. He is a pretty unselfish player. I think if he wants to hang around and scores a 40 or 50 he can easily do.

Can happen. Jaiswal is going through a horrible season as well. Just that we know how good he is. So we let it slide. Jurel is also not shining. We know how good he is.   Besides guys like Prabhsimran doesn't cost much probably.

Jaiswal looks the part though.  This guy is not the best athlete , looks unfit and is also only 5'6".

Yea. That is something he has to address. He looks odd shaped for a youngster. His face looks young alright. But his body looks like uncle body.

Mandeep singh was so mediocre still played for all ipl franchises. Hoping same for prabhsimran  , he might play for Barcelona and real madrid as well.

Other than mumbai and maybe delhi ,the rest of the states struggle to produce good batsmen .You might get the odd yuvraj ,dhoni or dada but the rest are generally poor.

They get more support as well.

Mediocre batter like Rahane played for 80 plus tests...despite sucking for years.

 

Rohit was backed over the hill for 5 years...despite giving Ravi Bopara level performances.

 

Compare it with the support a Vihari or a Badrinath, Karun Nair or even Mohammad Kaif got.

Not in T20. Punjab actually has their SMAT batsmen spread over the franchises

That's true ,Mumbai has a powerful lobby but Rohit and rahane were seen as better against pacers unlike those guys ,but rahane wasn't that great against spin and pitches did turn appreciably over the years.

I like wadhere but he ain't playing ,Gill is of course there ,not sure about the others .

wadhere-- MI -->??? -- Has serious punch, good legsided player not sure of off-side game.

MI got Dhir - Played couple of matches this season looked good and confident for being upcapped.

 

Lots of uncapped batters looking more confident and looked like they belong in IPL - Reddy--SRH, Ashutosh-PBKS, Dhir-MI, Raghuvanshi-KKR
